He is putting up 5+ innings per start and his BAD WHIP months have him at 1.500. He is a GREAT #4. And he is young. I want to try to get him to stick around.

Looks like Mike Clevinger may also be available. However, he may not be the best clubhouse guy.

I am not familiar with him, but his numbers look good. If he is a clubhouse cancer, probably not worth it, though.

WHIP Isn't that good, outside of April/March and June (maybe May). Look at his SO/W. He had two good months where it was in the high 4s to md 5s. The other 3 months were low to mid 2s. But yes, the gopher balls are not good. Stripling 2.0?
Maybe. I'm fairly certain he won't fall to us anyway.

That is what I was thinking about with the clubhouse issue. I have no idea, other than that, how he is with club chemistry.
Wonder the same thing about Renfroe. Iirc, he was a covid denier and maga. Would be interesting if they did and he did well. Bay Area fans conundrum lol

I am not certain if the BA attitude is the same as the clubhouse attitude. Very few of the players are super vocal to the media, so I don’t know how much of that is a thing.

I think the Giants are only interested in Giolito, Bader and Renfroe. With our priority placement, we should probably put claims in on all 3. Renfroe is probably the only one we have a legit shot of getting.

Reds got Renfroe.

We weren't bad enough to be in claim position.

Bader is washed and Giolito went to the Guardian Angels.

Looks like the Guardians claimed 3 of the pitchers the Angels waived.
Bader is also going to the Reds.

Hey, Noah Syndergaard is available.

Bader and Renfroe to the Reds.

Giolito, Moore and Lopez to the Guardians.

No word on Leone or Clevinger.

Leone went to the Mariners. Clevinger (along with Carrasco) has cleared waivers.
I had almost zero expectation that Carrasco would be claimed, that’s why I didn’t include him. I later saw Leone went to Seattle.

I wonder if Cincinnati got both Renfroe and Bader because of the awkward structure of the claiming process that I spelled out yesterday.

That is a good question. They have a decent outfield (although Senzel is subbing in for an injured Fraley and Friedl has struggled of late) so it is a bit surprising that they claimed two outfielders.

Bader mashes lefties, but I think he's washed. He's truly awful vs righties.

Not if you can't keep him on the field b/c his bat vs. righties is so awful.
If Pederson's bat can keep him on the field, then Bader's glove can keep him in the lineup.

Let me know if you need any more valuable logical thinking. Its obviously my strong suit.
