FZ going after his favorite player again, light hitting middle infield depth. I was going to say the Giants have enough but, with FZ, the Giants never have enough.

I had to double take...thought it was Donnie Barrels for a second.

Reports that the Giants are out on adding Imanaga at this point. They aren’t looking top of the rotation any longer.

I have a hard time believing these reports because both Cobb and Ray aren’t avail until about the ASB. We just don’t have the arms ready for the first half of the season as the roster sits right now.

Haven't read this at all. Have read that the Giants are one of the finalists for Imanaga.

Flores‘ career high in HRs is 23. Where tf did you come up with 30 for him?

I refuse to believe cal's wild, unfounded rumors over tzill's reasoned, trusted sources.

Re: Imanaga, I think the Giants will for sure be in on him until he’s out on us. No way the bridesmaids have suddenly developed restraint with all this fan backlash.

From BBRef (hope FZ is being honest on this one):
  • Top Giants prospect Kyle Harrison has been speculatively floated as a trade candidate, especially after reports surfaced last month that the club was considering dealing from its stock of young pitching. However, president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi all but officially closed the door on a Harrison swap, telling The Athletic’s Tim Kawakami in a podcast interview that “I can’t imagine any plausible scenario where we would move Kyle. He kind of embodies everything we’re hoping to be the next few years. He’s a local guy, he’s a homegrown talent, drafted and developed in our organization….Is a great kid, great competitor, has All-Star, Cy Young potential in our mind. Works really hard. Those are the kinds of guys you want to build around.”

I hope so, too. But cynically this sounds like the kiss of death. "Yes, the coach has done everything we have asked of him and he has our full confidence." Said a few days before the pink slip is delivered.

I hope Harry is not traded, but if he is, the haul needs to be a lot more than a middle-aged light hitting middle infielder. :lm:

Robbie Ray (2021-23): 385.2 IP. .221 BA, 29.5 K%, 7.6 BB%, 1.5 HR/9. 3.31 ERA, 3.94 FIP, 3.50 xFIP

Blake Snell (2021-23): 436.2 IP, .201 BA, 31.5 K%, 12 BB%, 0.9 HR/9. 3.15 ERA, 3.36 FIP, 3.54 xFIP.

One cost Disco and Haniger. The other will cost over $150 million.
I know nothing about Ray, but Snell never struck me as an elite stopper. I'm happy with the way this worked out

but what if we could get 2 light hitting middle infielders, one of which that was past his prime? surely that would tip the scales

Oh come on now, we all know that Berroa isn't in the same class as Harrison. FZ could get at least 2 light hitting middle infielders plus a catcher-outfielder!
