Of the 4 clients of Borass I think Jordan Montgomery might be the best fit but I prefer Imanaga over him. Dollar wise might be the same.

IMHO, losing a generation of fans over a 3 to 5 year rebuild seems much more extreme than passing on all FAs and a tear down. I think that the Field of Dreams mantra fits here - "If you build it, they will come". Sure, it may be a couple of lean years in attendance but if the fans are that fickle, they'll come back when the team starts winning again.
Gotta disagree here. If I were an owner I wouldn't roll the dice on fans coming back.

It depends on the length of the deal. Yes, he has a high ceiling. He also has a low floor. I wouldn't want to be stuck with him for 5 or more seasons. He isn't consistent enough and he is getting older for a pitcher. He won't be good the entire time of the deal. But maybe, if he can just churn out one Cy Young season, it would possibly be worth a 3 or 4 year deal.
With Boras, he's getting 5 years at least.

Hard pass.

The rumor mill on him has been really quiet, which is weird considering he posted the same day as Yamamoto yet Yamamoto signed over a week ago. I believe Imanaga needs to sign by Jan. 4th or he is assured another year in Japan. He had some hype (not nearly the same level as Yamamoto, but hype nevertheless) going into this offseason so it is a bit wierd that things stayed absolutely quiet on him after Yamamoto was snatched up.

He has until the 11th to sign.

Lol right?

I’m hoping Montgomery, Imanaga, Bellinger and Hoskins. Trade or cut some of the dead weight.

Edit: I know this ^ won’t happen.
I'd be okay with Imanaga and maybe Hoskins. But the Giants won't dump either Haniger or Conforto so Hoskins would just make the roster more crowded.

didn’t know where else to put this, so I’ll do it here…maybe Farhan’s analytics crew and Johnson’s EA should get together and hire a PR person.

1 year, but 10M?

I get upset about always “losing” the FAs, but that is a horrible contract. I am glad we didn’t get him. He is a glorified 4th OFer.

Going rate for 4th outfielders maybe?
