You may be right. But which 2? (Arias, Abreu, Adrianza). Also, that does not bode well for Pill, unless they are going to try to plug him into LF, but then that does not bode well for JCP, and I think he brings a LOT as a bench player...

I dunno, I see Pill being the backup guy on the right side, JCP as the #5 OF with Belt and Pill able to go out there in a pinch. This assumes we pickup a #3 OF.

Agreed. With 5 bench spots, one will be Chez3. If we get another LF, then another would be Shark. Arias is a lock. That leaves two spots, and we need an OF and another IF. Gotta be JCP and either Adrianza/Pill/Abreu

I think it's Chez, Shark, HariAss, JCP, Abreu. BPill is the OMO because Posey and Sandoval can slide over to first to give Belt a rest. Although, there isn't much thump on that bench which gives Pill a shot, but I still think he doesn't quite make it. Whoever has more trade value between Adrianza and Abreu will probably get traded, which I deem to be Adrianza so he's out. Peguero getting DFA'd pretty much seals it for JCP.

Hopefully next Monday we will gain some more clarity on the LF situation.

Career vs. LH 300/370/526 vs. RH 267/320/478. I would think Hart would play against a decent amount of RH as well. I know he is primarily a RF and has played some 1B lately, but if we go FA I think he is the guy I would most like to see.

Good call. I would add Mitchell Boggs, Xavier Paul and Matt Diaz to the Sabean Scrapheap Grab Bag. Not a bad roster or competition for spots.

I still like the idea of having JCPs speed/defense on the bench over Pills bat. JCP showed enough with the bat to offer a little bit that regard anyway.

I think Pill is a worst-case-scenario. Hopefully we are able to deal him for a Strickland-type like we did with Goner last year.

It could happen, but it's a steep hill for Pill. And I am with you guys anyway, I'll take JCP and his defense.

On the Gardner rumor, I would love to have the guy. A few pages back I'm pretty sure I even brought up his name as a trade possibility for Adrianza+

Also, new life on the Tanaka front.

There is a new system that is expected to be accepted, a $20MM maximum posting fee bid. There are conflicting reports on who gets the winning bid though. One report says that the team with the highest bid and lowest winning percentage wins it. Another report says that the player will be able to choose from the highest bidder.

What does this mean for the Giants? Probably nothing, having already signed Hudson and Volgey to fill out the rotation and Sabean's comments on how if the Giants bring back Ryan they will do him a service and not force him to compete for the 5th starters role, it likely means the Giants are OUT on any big pitchers. However, I don't think Sabean and co. may have seen this type of system coming, so you can't rule it out. The Giants may bid on him anyway. Should be interesting to follow.
