I hope you're right, but I don't think Ghana is a pushover.

USA better wear the red hoops jersey too, dammit.

Ghana isn't as tough as they have been, and will struggle away from Africa. They're certainly no pushover, but they're very beatable.

Stros deserve what they get. What do they expect?

Eh, they had to spend some money to give the appearance of trying...if he stinks then they'll get another #1 pick...if he's good then they'll trade him at deadline.

Anyone see the tweet from Sean Doolittle of the A's asking Siri how to throw a slider? Pretty Funny stuff, he's gonna need it

I know JD is trying to trade for our LF, but I think we should sign Beltran before he comes off the board. If we trade for a LFer after that then he can DH. I think he makes a lot of sense because he would fit into the 3 or 5 hole, and would allow Choice some playing time when he DH's.

Astros get Scooter Feldman 3 yr 30 million. Get to see more of him now

Cano is unquestionably a brilliant move compared to this. What on earth are they thinking? A 500 pitcher with a decent team, and now he's with one of the worst. This makes this much sense....ZERO.

I'm leaning that way too. We know that the FA's come high and the prices aren't coming down.
Better get while there is still someone one the board.

The question is will the Stros win six?

HAHA nice DT, you mean with Feldman and Fowler they aren't contending for the Division?

Meant to say NOT by much.

Honestly, this is a completely mind boggling move. I can see a team - even the Rangers - signing him for the #5 hole. Good competitor, eat some innings, good guy in the clubhouse. But with the Astros for $30 M makes no sense to me on any level. For him, it's $30 big and loving it of course.

Well, if Feldman has a good first half, they'll probably trade him to a contender anyway.

I'm gonna assume you're right. The last 2 years he's gone about 180 innings, and he's been consistently about a 4 ERA for longer than this. But $30 million. He's only a 4 on a good year. Who needs a #4/5 starter in the second half for this money?

Swear........this is a very, very strange signing to me.

Strange? How about insane. The last thing the Astros needed was a pitcher like Feldman even if he was free. The man is a terrible pitcher and he's making 10 mil a yr. No not strange. Insane.

Prob MLB telling them they had to spend some money this year and this way they'll still be bad enough to get #1 pick.
