Strange? How about insane. The last thing the Astros needed was a pitcher like Feldman even if he was free. The man is a terrible pitcher and he's making 10 mil a yr. No not strange. Insane.

Seriously, and I guess I disagree with ya some on this: I do see some value with Scotty. But, I don't understand the length of contract, the team who offered said contract, or the value of this contract. But as a #5 starter for a team who needs innings, he'd be perfect.

No I'm not on board. This guy will not benefit a team like the Astros. They don't need an inning burner like Scott and that's all he is IMO. His contract is too long and 10 mil for his services is insane. I hope we never get him for a #5. Bottom line: Astros need help badly and they can't get it like this.

We are getting way right handed hitting for my liking we need our next signing to be a left handed bat for sure.Here is a look at our team against each.

As you can see the lineups still need some tweaking here is a list of the players that could help our lineup.
Left handed hitters Choo,Beltran and Kubel
Right handed hitters Napoli,Beltran and Kemp

You can see fitting in Beltran would help both line ups considerably and Kubel could be a buy low signing that could be another left handed bat.I hope that Sardinas beats out Rosales as the utility player has more pop in the bat then Rosales

The team, investment, nor length makes sense to anyone except Houston.

The one thing I wasn't kidding about was, this is truly one of the worst signings I remember. Makes no, notta, sense for them period, the-end.

Interesting and well thought out.

Two questions: (1) do you know what splits Profar has? (2) Tell me more about Kubel and how you feel he fits in please?

Beltran is my preference to satisfy the balance you describe. Choo however is needed equally for another reason, lead off.

Plus it is really difficult for a young rookie tp be a utility IF. It's a better fit for a veteran.
