The Tigers have agreed to acquire David Price from the Rays, tweets Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports. The deal is a three-way trade between the Tigers, Rays, and Mariners.

Austin Jackson will go to the Mariners, per a tweet from Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com, with Nick Franklin and Drew Smyly heading to Tampa, according to Bob Dutton of the Tacoma News Tribune (via Twitter).

Tampa only gets Smyly and Franklin??? Wow, sucks for them. Maybe other prospects involved...I mean Smyly is a good young pitcher, but would have expected a lot more for Price.

I know he comes across as conceited at times, especially in having brad freakin pitt play him in a movie, but the man has out-gm'ed Jon Daniels the past 3 years. He does a damn good job. He has an interesting quote that goes something like "you only get a couple of times in life that you can go for it. when you think that moment is right, you go for it. you don't look back. the thing that separates the good from the bad is picking WHEN to go for it."

Well, needless to say, this season he's goign for it.

Shows that Smyly is not a FA until 2019. That may be part of the reason.

He has put together a good team no doubt about it. And they have let go of a lot of pitchers in the last 5 years or so but they just keep coming.

They have an old man with loads of money to spend before he finally dies. He wants to win a WS. I think he will spend like crazy.

that's called going for it. There is not one person that can deny that he has done a better job than JD the past 3 years. He's turned a bunch of no name dudes into a constant contender and one of the best rotations in baseball.
