Why not keep Garver on the DL until he is ready to catch?
Because he had a hot bat right before his injury...

Garver was placed on the injured list with a flexor strain in his right forearm prior to the Rangers' homestand. President of baseball operations Jon Daniels said Garver was feeling it in his arm following the Phillies series, but did not play the last two games of the Yankees series. The plan is just for medication and rest with the hopes that he will be able to swing the bat in a week’s time. Garver was slashing.296/.345/.593 in his last seven games before the injury. -- Kennedi Landry (Last updated: May 16)

Him and Perez
Perez changed from a slider to cut fastball and Moore change his grip on one or two pitches, those moves seems to have worked for them so far...

EDIT: Looks like Duane mentioned Moore's grip change before I did... :thumb:

I'm guessing Woody thinks having hot guys behind him means he will see better pitches...

I'm guessing he's either putting too much pressure on himself or he's not being patient enough, he seems to be hitting a lot of ground balls...

Jamey puts Carter higher than I would, but he has performed about as well as anyone in the minors this year. I think I would like to see him perform at AA before putting him that high and we might get that chance fairly soon. Here is Jamey's report on Carter.

5. Evan Carter, OF, High-A Hickory
Round 2/2020 (+3)

Viewed by draft publications as a considerable reach when Texas used its second-round pick on him in 2020 (to wit: he was nowhere to be found among Baseball America’s top 500 prospects in what was a five-round, 160-player draft), Carter was the youngest player assigned to a full-season farm club in 2021. This year, he’s the youngest everyday player in the South Atlantic League — he turns 20 in late August — but is among the most polished and productive.

Following up on his debut with Down East last year — in which he had more walks than strikeouts and an .825 OPS through 32 games before he was shut down with a stress fracture in his lower back — Carter is hitting .307/.388/.495 for Hickory, alternating between the top three spots in the batting order. His offensive game is predicated on an elite combination of high exit velocities and strike zone command, and he impacts games on the bases and in center field as well. One component of Carter’s game that has yet to actualize is fence power, but the Rangers believe that piece will arrive as his projectable 6-4 frame continues to fill out. The idea that he could force his way to Double A as a teenager is on the table.

Blaine Crim doesn't even get much love from Jamey, but that's okay. It really appears that the Rangers moved Harris off of 1B to make room for Crim at 1B, so I think they see his potential.

Seem like Cole, Snyder, Crim Lee and Church are too low on this list. All these are likely productive MLB players

FWIW. Rangers did hang in there but that game was a gift. Woody has too much faith in Martin. Not sure I would put him in with a lead or tie game

Halos pen weee a dumpster fire but that lineup is impressive

Relievers always seem to be underappreciated in these lists for some reason.
