Howard I'll give you, but there's a few guys ahead of Perez in the problematic department.

Holland, Hearn, Allard, Sborz, Richards, and Martin are more problematic than Perez at the moment.

I'm putting Hearn over Perez there because he's got a higher WHIP and AVG against. Hitters are batting .400 against Taylor.

Yeah it might be. Not a Woody hater but really don't believe he is what we need. We'll see.

Starting pitching has been lackluster so far, so it's not Woody's fault that he's had to use the pen so much, but how he's used it hasn't been great. Allard has only pitched in 2 games so can't agree that Woody has been "overdependent" on him.

2022 Rangers Player Pitching Stats

The Rangers have already used 19 different pitchers and every single damn one of them has given up at least 1 run.

28th in WHIP and dead last in AVG against (.292). Most HR given up. Dead last in team ERA (6.19). The pitching has been absolute dogshit. If that doesn't improve, someone's out of a job.

EDIT: should also mention that our GM is a former pitcher and MLB league on-field executive. have to assume he's very aware of the state of things.

problem is that when the lockout ended, we had the opportunity to address pitching and we did NOTHING so what we've got is what we're going to have to go with.
