I think the 49er’s should do all they can to get Watson. The 49ers don’t owe Jimmy G another dime so the Texans can cut him, add in the 12th pick, a pick next year/player. This would be a nice fit in Shanahan’s offense and he is the missing piece. Crazy to think Watson is still only 25. Get out while you can Watson, Houston is a shit organization

Again....

The 49ers would need to give up 3 1st rounders, and 2 or 3 of their 2nd rounders to even get Houston to pick up the phone and start negotiations.

Houston doesn’t have to trade Watson. They are going to have to be blown away to do it.

A CB like Jalen Ramsey was worth 2 1sts and OBJ was worth a 1st+. Watson is worth 10 fold that. He is a franchise QB that is 25 under contract for like 6 years.

People sound silly saying a team should give up 1 or 2 first rounders for Watson. No shit. He is worth WAY more than that. And it will take way more than that to get the Houston to even listen.

If I am Miami I am for sure giving up 2 first round picks plus Tua and even 2022 first round pick to get Watson. I don't think they are allowed to trade back the Texans pick to them I could be wrong. Watson being like 24 years old pro bowler that led the league in passing yards is crazy.

If I am the Jets I would be looking to package that 2nd overall pick plus 2022 and a few 2nd and 3rd rounders. Whoever is able to land Watson whom is under a multi year contract would be a contending team for a long time.
The Jets need to fix the OL....

Watson just went 4-12 with a bad roster

if he went to the Jets and the Jets had to surrender all their draft capital, I don’t see how the Jets improve dramatically with Watson

he obviously doesn’t elevate bad rosters

It needs to be a team on the cusp of being really good like Miami, Chicago or SF.

I don't think it'll be worth what you're saying it will.....but more than Ramsey and OBJ.

Watson is not worth 10 first rounders.
And he can force his way out if he desires. The new CBA will fine him 50k per day and it is not forgivable like the old CBA but if he wants out and Houston says no it comes down to who is has more resolve. I’m not saying Watson should or should not just saying he has more leverage than a guy on a rookie deal.
Houston screwed up big time again time will tell if it cost them a QB that is in the top 10 at minimum.

You are forgetting...this is the Texans but even if they have to give up a ton of picks. You do it. Won’t be easy.

They don’t have to trade him but it’s your QB. Just like any situation in sports the last thing you want is an unhappy leader on your roster that doesn’t want any part of the organization. All rumors so I get it but if they are true and he is demanding a trade it will come to a point they do have to trade him, they will look over their offers carefully. 2-3 1st’s sounds about right for starters but it depends how much they value Jimmy G or other players on their roster as well.

10 1st’s? You’re crazy. Remember this is the Texans. You might think that the Texans hold all the cards here but just look at other situations in sports. If he keeps demanding they will have to trade him and they should be able to get a ton for him but not even half of 10 1st’s

Yeah, 10 first rounders is bonkers and no way it takes more than 3firsts and maybe 1 or 2 second rounders IMO.

Plus a player like Tua on a rookie contract or a decent starter in Jimmy G.

Yeah I didnt mean they would get that much.....but he is worth 10 times the value of a Jalen Ramsey or OBJ (maybe not Jalen). They wont get 10 times that in a trade.

But talking about teams like the Pat's or SF is just silly. Neither team has the draft assets to pull off a trade without also giving up so much that it doesn't make sense for them to do it because they wouldnt be able to field a team around Watson.

The only teams that are an option are the Jet's and the Dophins. They are the only 2 teams with the type of draft assets to get this done. To get this done Houston would need to believe Tau + a bunch of 1st rounders is worth it to move on. Or from the Jet's, they would have to believe Fields with the 2nd overall pick + a bunch of other picks is worth it.

...

When thinking of this trade, think of it this way. This is EASILY the most talented player that would be traded in the last 2 decades of football. He is a 25 year old franchise QB who would be playing under a decent contract (relatively speaking of course) for a long time moving forward. Nothing that we have seen traded in the last 20 years comes even close to the type of talent at the most important position in football that we are talking about here.

So when you refer to who could trade for him and what they would have to give up, you just cant throw out a couple of draft picks no matter how good they are.

We are talking about a Hershal Walker type of offer if this is going to happen. So saying that SF should trade a 1st and maybe a 2nd along with Jimmy is just silly talk. No chance that offer wouldn't get clobbered by another team. And no chance Houston would take it even if it was the best offer because there is zero chance they would have a shot at being a better team moving forward.

Your hate for Watson is ridiculous.

Put him on the Chiefs and Mahomes on the Texans and you would think Mahomes sucks and Watson is great.

Watson had a FANTASTIC year this year. The fact that they were 4-12 says little about Watson and everything about just how bad the Texans defense and coaching staff were this year.

No way Mahomes sucks on the Texans now Watson would most likely have a great year on the Chiefs. Hell I think Andy Reid and Bienemy might make Sam Darnold look great. Now The dirt guy might think Watson is not so good but his opinions are so bad he is on permanent ignore.
Now the Texans look about as dysfunctional as the Jets and that is truely sad for a awesome fan base in Houston.

Blasphemous.
Pretending like what Watson was dealt this season is what he’s been dealt his whole career is a lie. Watson finished with a worse record than Matt Stafford, and there isn’t an ounce of that Lions roster that was better than the Texans, coaching staff included

before this season, with guys like Hopkins and Fuller and a perennial top 5 defense, his most notable wins came against Connor Cook and a still very green Josh Allen

is what it is, you can fall in love with the potential and the fantasy numbers, facts are the facts. If you think the difference between Mahomes and Watson is only the guys around them, you didn’t pay much attention to their careers prior to 2020

I’d love to know the difference in rosters between the Jets and Texans if the Jets were forced to surrender their draft capital, and why the results for Watson would be different
