More likely that they'll go independent. They would keep the UCLA and Notre Dame rivalries, and possibly Stanford/Cal.

More likely a merger between the PAC and Big 12:

West:
Washington
Oregon
Stanford
USC
UCLA
Arizona
Utah

East:
Texas
Texas Tech
TCU
Baylor
Oklahoma
Colorado
Kansas

This isn't happening.. Asu would be a better choice and Arizona although I think both will be in.
If I'm bowlsby, I'd put the full court press on SC.. You get them then it really opens up all the doors. My first four would be SC, ucla, asu and AZ

I think Okie Lite is more likely than Texas Tech, Baylor or TCU. But, I never thought Missouri would be considered in the Southeast nor would Syracuse/Pittsburgh be considered on the Atlantic Coast. So, what the hell do I know.

You don't need two schools from Arizona and UA is going to bring in more revenue than ASU. Conference additions shouldn't be a short sighted decision. ASU may look like the better choice this second but Arizona is the better addition long term. The Big 12 and PAC 12 both need to remove some dead weight from their conferences. There is no need for two programs in the state of Kansas or Oklahoma or Oregon or Washington, etc. Take the best and form a new conference in order to compete with the SEC and B1G when it comes to revenue and recruiting.

Texas Tech is in Texas. Texas is one of the states everyone wants to recruit. Oklahoma, not as much. And bringing in OU already gives you the OKC market. Oklahoma State is probably the better program right now but you build conferences for the future, not just the next season.

oklahoma state isn't getting left out. And the Big 12 does have the leverage if it wants to grab both schools in the ever growing AZ state. You add both SoCal schools.. the money will definitely be there. THose 4 would be a great expansion scenario.
Now if this was going to be a new conference merger then yes I agree about some dead weight being dropped. One of Baylor and tcu should be dropped, along with WV. Unlike most I like both isu and ksu .
Big8div= UT, tech, ou, osu, isu, ksu, ks, and one of tcu/baylor
Pac8div= SC, ucla, az, asu, cal, UW, O, Stanford.
With this you could make a case for both TCu and baylor being left out in order to get colorado as well.

Look at their results on the field for the last 10 seasons. Oklahoma State has been better than Texas Tech

Sounded like you were saying Oklahoma state is the better program than OKLAHOMA

TCU and Baylor are in Texas, where everyone wants to recruit. No reason for two Kansas or Oklahoma school. Nor is there a reason for ISU. Colorado adds markets and is a decent state to recruit so I get them. Expanding your recruiting grounds is crucial to a conference

If you read the post I was responding to, it was clear the discussion was about Oklahoma State and Texas tech

Baylor would 100% get left out of any merger between the PAC and the Big Xii.

Would kinda be funny/sad if Colorado wound up back in the Xii, though

Clearly it wasn't, since I wasn't the only one who misunderstood.

No big deal.
