In the Mouth of Sadness: Arkansas Razorbacks

I received a request for this to be about UCF, but the Knights sadly haven't made it to the level of great message boards to choose from for angst yet. So then I thought about Michigan or maybe even Houston, but Houston losing shouldn't be a surprise and the Wolverines lost to Wisconsin and there's no shame in that.

Instead, we go to the SEC where losing just means more. This brings us to Fayetteville. The one in Arkansas, not Tennessee, Georgia, or North Carolina. The one in North Carolina is known for being a military town. The one in Georgia is known for being an Atlanta suburb of some sort. The one in Tennessee is known for being the midway point between the Jack Daniel's plant and Huntsville, Alabama and for their air occasionally smelling like fine whiskey when a nice breeze blows southward.

This weekend, the one in Arkansas is known for San Jose State's greatest football triumph in some time. Here now, highlights from a special vent thread for the SJSU/UA contest at an anonymous Arkansas Razorbacks fan message board, from pregame to postgame.

Watching the Hogs is sort of like watching a house burn, you can't help it even thought you know something bad is happening.

Why does every little underdog team come in and play with more heart than our Hogs? The Hogs play like their head coach, a passionless, boring nothing.

13+ years since this team has beaten a P5 team. Their head coach is 4-23 at the helm. And he will walk away tonight with more wins over Power 5 teams than Chad Morris has. Let that sink in.

I can't support this body of work anymore. I can't pick another team, but I don't have to support this terrible program with my dollars until the administration and boosters pull their heads out of their collective butts and commit to winning instead of hooking their people up.
I never liked the Morris hire. What we see today is what I predicted. I supported him anyway because I support the Hogs.
Not anymore. For the first time in over 37 years, I will not watch any more games until someone, somewhere shows the will and commitment to winning.
