There are some that mistakenly believe that the 2001 Miami Hurricanes were the greatest college football team of all time, and yes it's a mistake to believe so.

Could any team that COULD NOT SCORE AN OFFENSIVE TOUCHDOWN against an UNRANKED opponent, possibly be considered the greatest cfb team of all-time? I repeat, could any team that could NOT score an offensive touchdown against an UNRANKED opponent possibly be considered the greatest cfb team of all-time? The notion is ridiculous, preposterous, absurd and ludicrous.

Don't believe me? Try not falling asleep watching the so-called greatest cfb team of all-time not score an offensive touchdown against unranked Boston College:

Think Nebraska '95, Penn State '94, LSU '19, Alabama '20, etc., would not be able to score on unranked BC? They'd have scored 50+.

You want an accurate ranking on where '01 Miami ranks all-time? Try 29th, based on what they did on the field in 2001. They survived and beat #14 VT by ONLY two points as well.

What happens after 2001 for those Canes doesn't change what happened in 2001 ON THE FIELD or on the scoreboard or even on the stat sheet.

OP is my new favorite person on the intersweat(no matter the forum) outside of the fact they are annoying and probably need to touch grass.

Don't recall who was still there in 2001, but there was a hell of a lot of top NFL talent on the field for their title game against OSU in 2002.

That said might need better QB to be best ever, I guess.

I think 2019 LSU has a case for the best offense ever - Burrow at QB, Chase and Jefferson at receiver, that O was amazing - arguably the 2 best current NFL receivers were on that O plus an elite QB in Burrow. Amazing team.

I’m not sure who has the greatest team ever in college football, everyone has their own opinions about it. Miami from 00-01-02 had an amazing amount of NFL talent on it.

It doesn't matter if all their players were All-Pros or plumbers by profession, it wouldn't change ONE SINGLE THING that took place ON THE FIELD in 2001. That's all that matters.

By your argument, Michigan 1997 should be considered the greatest team of all-time since they had Tom Brady on the bench on the roster. They were so good he couldn't get on the field. That how that NFL talent argument work????
