Next team up for WVU... Texas.

ESPN predictor gives us a 43% chance to beat the Longhorns on Saturday.

Chances look good that we start a new losing streak Saturday afternoon.

Our HOF coach needs to try to get this team out of last place. The 10th highest paid coach in America should be able to get that done... right?

Alright. We have a new streak.

Another embarrassing loss.

4th loss by 20+

8th loss by double digits.

This team just flat out fucken sucks............I don't see how adding two or three players next season is going to make this team that much better.

Someone once said Good Coaches have their team improving as the year goes on, we are getting closer to the end of the season, and I'm yet to see the improvement. Oh well at least we got Kansas back for the football game a few years ago. We are to basketball what Kansas is to football. We just need to get use to it till our future hall of fame coach can "fix this" as he has said many times he is going to.

So... here's the deal as I see it...

1. Since Bob took over as HC, we have seen a ton of success in his early days. A Final Four appearance was the first since '59. He had a ton of talent on that Final Four team. He had a collection of Beilein and his own players. He has never had the same type of response with a team composed of his own boys.

2. His style of play made his subsequent teams less competitive every year. So, he instead of adjusting his recruiting to bring intelligent players with great fundamentals and shooting proficiency... he stayed with his kind of guy and brought us a gimmick... Press VA.

3. No one wants to play Press VA.

4. He brings kids who can't play Press VA, kids who are intelligent... great fundamentals... proficient shooters. He puts them in an archaic offense that doesn't play to their strengths. He stubbornly tells these new kids they aren't as basketball smart as they think. The first mistake they make, he makes a point with them. To the fucking bench...

5. He opens up recruiting to replace his kids with other kids. The chemistry of the team is destroyed. They quit on him because he's quit on them.

6. We end up with this fucking mess.

7. We've seen this movie before. We saw it following the '13 season.

8. This won't end well for WVU fans.

Give me Knapper and Doomes starting at the guard spots next game and see if their foot speed can help anything. Maybe they can create a few turnover buckets :noidea:

I know Im ok with Haley either coming off the bench or switching to forward as I don't think he can play guard at this level, just too slow

UMMMM, after the 2013 season we went to the sweet sixteen three of the next four years.........most schools would like that, yes this is a bad team, when Ahmad is the only senior on the team, anyone who didn't think this year would be a step back was fooling themselves.

This history absolutely means it will go the exact same way or better this time around?

How many times has WVU been to the sweet 16 ?(since going to 64 team)

Eight.

How many of those teams were coached by Huggins?

Five.

So. In 12 years Huggins has been to the sweet 16 five times. In the previous 22 years WVU only made it that far THREE times. (Twice under Beilein) What is the complaint again?

You all are starting to sound like Pitt fans wanting Jamie Dixon fired. How is the aftermath of that?

Beilein was at WVU for how long?

He took over the mess left by Cat and had us in the Elite 8 in just his third year. The team made it to the Sweet 16 and was a play away from making it to the Elite 8 two years in a row. They won the NIT the next year.

Prior to Beilein, we had an AD who didn’t care about achieving great success in his athletic department. He kept coaches like Catlett, Nehlen and Van Zant to continue plodding along.

It’s really stupid to compare today’s expectations to anything from our past.

That is like going to the Cactus Bowl, or the World Camping Bowl IMHO...NO BIG DEAL!...you get seeded high, get whats SUPPOSED to be a walkover game ( SEE STEPHEN F AUSTIN) and have to win a competitive game after that..the Sweet 16 should be a gimme..

Yeah, you're right BB. We need to fire our coaches at the first sign of trouble. First losing season and they're done. Pastilong should have never allowed Nehlen to stay after 86. What was he thinking?

It’s not the first sign of trouble. That was back in ‘13.

This is actually the third time Huggy’s run into trouble with his team. He had 3 kids quit on him following the ‘14 season. Third time in the last 7 years.

This year’s team will go down as one of the worst in modern WVU basketball history.

At some point, you have to quit pointing fingers at the kids the HC brings to Morgantown, and say to yourself... maybe it’s the HC who is the problem.

Bobby ain’t gonna get fired. We all know that. But, he should be firing some of his assistants... if not all of them. They spend the most time recruiting. They spend the most time developing the players.

I've alluded to your point in another diatribe I went on. How much are they paying those coaches? Who have they brought in talent wise? How have they helped coaching on the floor?...the Dude from Duquesne is no more than a drinking buddy from what I see..

I do blame Huggins. Specifically his recruiting.

It’s Bobby’s program. The assistant coaches are his.

I’ve heard some say, “Bobby can’t know everything about these kids before he gets them in Morgantown.”

True.

But, he knows how he’s going to coach them. If he doesn’t have a coach... or coaches... capable of rebuilding the player’s confidence, what are you to do?

Dump the lot of them who fail to produce and blame them for not working hard enough.

That is what we have as a program.

It has worked. 4 straight years of making the dance... 3 Sweet 16’s.

It has failed. ‘13... ‘14 and ‘19.

Funny how things never change. Go back to last year and read through the ‘This is who we are...’ thread. Same arguments, same excuses.

The newest streak has reached 3...

A total whipping tonight. Huggs told the press after the game he feels the kids need to compete. They’ll win if they do...

HOF coaching...

If you aint' first your last!...not a single Big12 Championship...lets start there...getting to a Sweet 16? Come on..you give me that total and you leave out a Stephen F Austin debacle...
