My guess is Rattler sits for 2 years and takes over as a RS Soph, barring injury.

Problem is, he has to want to do that, and so many kids today don't want to sit and wait. 2 years is a long time.

Personally, it's a fine line that is delicate to walk for a HC and I'm not convinced it would be the best thing for OU to pick the kid up.

We all can’t recruit offensively at the elite level of Michigan State. We just have to find the players that fall through the cracks and hope for the best.
It’s been a while since Michigan State has anything that vaguely resembles an offense.

My guess is you guys might benefit if we end up with Fields, because there's no chance in hell I see Dwan Mathis sticking with us in that case. Don't see why he wouldn't go back to Sparty.

no doubt but not because the kid wants to leave. i am pissed about how he/his family is handling it.

lawering up. leaking the decision through the attorney. insinuating racism. 48 hrs before ESD in the dark period.

yea, i am pissed.

I'd say this is a pretty clear sign the kid does want to leave. He doesn't seem to be a great fit in that offense, and if he's going so far as to bring the racial aspect into it, doesn't sound like he wants to be there anymore. Also it's hard to say, but specifically bringing up Ryan Day as a reason seems legitimate.

I can see why not if Warner is still our OC.

Fair point. Only other legit offers are Iowa State, Oregon, Cincinnati, South Carolina, and UK. Then again, some other schools may offer depending on what happens.

he's gone. the question is when.

if what is being reported is true i would have liked to see him shown the door first thing this morning. don't want that attitude around my team.

Oh my guess if any of it's actually true, this will happen soon. No way Kirby will keep him around when they have a bowl game to think about.

Rumor is that Fields is going to appeal to the NCAA for an exemption to the 1-year rule because of a racially charged incident in October. Supposedly, some baseball player called him some politically incorrect name during the Tennessee game or some such thing.

I'm no expert on NCAA rules, but that sounds like a bunch of hooey to me.

What is Adam Sasser alleged to have shouted at Justin Fields ?

problem is if ga denies it how will they explain the dismissal of the accused player?

JF wasn't even around when the kid use the "N-Word". It was reported and got back to JF. UGA investigated the incident and dismissed the kid within a week. The kid then apologized. JF's sister signed to play softball at UGA in November. The incident happened in September.

At least that is what I can put together.

It's just to try to get the exemption, not leave the school. Obviously, he's leaving for football reasons.

yea I never followed the story even though the dismissed kid is a local kid
he has fully denied it to local media but who knows

was commenting to the claims of fields having no grounds for a racism claim and the ga actions kinda would support him in a way

100% true. But look at the results Mayfield and Murray had by sitting and learning a year. If nothing else just growing up a little. Probably just my opinion but I doubt either one would have had the level of success they had without it. It did 'em both some good. Again, JMO.

Barring injury.

I've been hearing from credible people that Jake Fromm has full intentions of playing out his eligibility at UGA, and since Fromm and Fields are only separated by one year, that would only leave Fields one season as the starter unless he redshirts, and I don't see that happening.

In any other recruiting class, Fields would have been the number one player in the country, much less number one QB, and I have my doubts that a kid rated that highly would be willing to be a backup for 3 years, and his father has already said he wants Fields to get significantly more playing time.

This is Fromm's team, and Fromm is a pretty damn good QB who is gonna be tough for Fields to beat out of the job.

If Fromm were to change his mind and leave for the NFL after the 2019 season, I think Fields probably stays, but if Fromm stays through 2020, I think it's pretty well a given that Fields will transfer to somewhere he'll start at.

So my pick is no, he'll never be the starting QB at UGA. I hope he talks to DJ Shockley, who had to wait out David Greene for one season as starting QB and decides to see it through, but I have my doubts.

It was kind of Fromm's team at the end of LY so Fields knew that before he signed.

If Fromm has a chance to be a 1st or 2nd rd NFL pick, he would be foolish to stay at UGA. I do think Field's has a younger sister that either just enrolled at UGA or will be incoming to play softball so I don't think Justin would leave as soon as she arrives so I think he will be there this upcoming season.

If so and Fromm decides to stay, I think Fields is kind if in a tough spot because he'd have to sit out a year...may as well stick it out at UGA and play his Sr. season and hope for the best as far as the next level.
