Yes it is a coincidence. That was statistically one of his worst years. He made the pro bowl that year because it is the one year the Lions had a defense, so the team won. His pro bowl year was statically his 3rd worst of his career. It probably wasn't coincidental that with Tate in the fold he had his only pro bowl season no?

Good lord man.
known hair splitter.
any questions?
Stafford put up elite numbers while his team had a bad defense. Fields has not.It would probably help Fields if the Bears defense wasn't bottom 5 his entire career. Yes some of that is on him giving them short fields...They're coming together late this season...and bam! wins!
The Lions D got better and Staffords record got better. Crazy how that works.

which wing in Canton is Herman Moore in?
I think the Bears will move on, but it’s not like Fields is trash. He’s gotten better as a passer, a new staff might help his decision-making, and with a change in culture he could be a winner.
For the Bears, first you want to look at the AFC, but all I see there is the Raiders and Patriots (two bad ideas - one staff too green and the other too crusty) and a desperation play by the Jets if Rodgers doesn’t come back.
The better fits are in the NFC - the Bucs, Giants, Washington and Rams (if Stafford hangs it up) wouldn’t be crazy, but the best fit IMO is Atlanta. It’s a conservative run-centric offense that’s doing okay with a poor QB right now. I think Fields could thrive there and that team would be much better with him on it. They also have no shot in the short term at having a bad enough record to draft a franchise QB, and trading away pieces to move up in the draft doesn't make a lot of sense for them.
Vikings also wouldn't be crazy, but no way Chicago sends him there.
Exactly....Bears?
Are we arguing they've had some kind of amazing track of producing qbs? Further Stafford had the same OC for 5 years who went on to OC in Dallas as well and was an NFL head coach for 3. Are we taking bets if Getsy is a 10 year NFL OC? This dude is literally making money off Aaron Rodgers.
They are thinking about sticking with him?If rumors if Eberflus staying come true, then Chicago with anyone but their current OC. Their defense got a lot better once Williams left, and ME took over, so maybe they just need someone even slightly competent to take over on the offensive side of the ball?
They are thinking about sticking with him?
Geez.
Agree with that.I can kind of see Eberflus if the team is feeling good around him
but Getsy gotta go. Regardless of what they do.
Lol holy shit. Maybe rb, wr, cb or safety then?No one is slobbing his knob. I personally have said at least 3 dozen times it would make perfect sense for Chicago to move on.
The irrational take is saying he's toast already in the midst of a 75 plus PFF season and a rating over 90 while having elite athleticism
There will be teams more than happy to give Fields a shot if it isn't the Bears.
People were burying Baker last year too. Funny he's very possibly going to be taking a team to the playoffs.
He"s great at betting against
To answer the question: Atlanta. Think Fields is from there also.
Before Sunday, heard a comparison that Fields has as many scrimmage yards, TD and INT in his last 32 games as Baker Mayfield and Carson Wentz have in their last 32 games. Would you want Mayfield or Wentz?
And for everyone clamoring for more weapons for Fields, please note DJ Moore had 3 consecutive 1100+ seasons (nearly 1200 yards in 16 games) with Mayfield, Darnold and Bridgwater throwing to him respectively. Moore still needs about 350 yards with Fields in the next 3 games (1 extra game) to reach that target.
Could it be coaching? Absolutely. But unless another coaching staff works with Fields, it's moot.
