Will Justin Fields ever be the starting QB at UGA?

Fully expected him to transfer, but figured it would be after next season.

Gotta hope Fromm stays healthy next year, got a 4 star coming in, and he's gonna have to be the second string.

He can try that, but there's audio clips of him saying that he was promised nothing when he signed. Kirby told him the best QB will be the one who plays, and the best QB played.

I don't blame the kid or hold it against him. At the end of the day, he's gotta do what's best for him, and a talent like that isn't gonna be willing to be a backup for 3 years.

Honestly, I hope he can play next season, I just think he's gonna have a tough time getting his appeal granted.

Yep. Can't really blame him. He's a great talent, and can start right now for a lot of teams, but this is Fromm's team, and it will be until Fromm leaves, and from what I've heard, Fromm fully intends on staying through his senior season.

Fromm's kind of a badass. Back to back years he's forced a more highly rated prospect at QB to transfer.

Yeah, Fromm is the guy, no doubt about it.

It always sucks to lose a talent like that, but at the same time, it is a bit of a relief. This "Qb controversy" has been a distraction all season, and I knew it was bound to happen eventually.

Unless the lie was about the severity of NCAA violations that’d put the team on probation — it wouldn’t matter in the least bit if Kirby lied to him.

That’s why Patterson was granted immediate eligibility. Ole Miss told him the NCAA violations were minor and wouldn’t effect the program at all.

But even if a coach lying were grounds to be granted immediate eligibility, there's audio from Fields himself that would squash it. He said himself that he was promised nothing when he signed. Kirby told him the best player will play(which I will say Kirby didn't really follow through with when it comes to linebackers this season), and the best QB on the roster is the one that played.

I hope he can play next season. I really do, but unless there's something major that we're not aware of yet going on, I just don't see it happening. He stayed home to go to UGA, so he couldn't use family hardship. Not winning a starting job isn't gonna be reason enough IMO.

Only reason Ole Miss players were granted immediate eligibility is Freeze lied about the severity of the NCAA violations Ole Miss was dealing with to the recruits.

It would make sense.

My money is on Miami though. He was recruited pretty hard to go there. I think he and Jaden Haselwood(top WR in the 2019 class) are wanting to play together there. Apparently Fields not being the starter is a reason why Haselwood decommitted from UGA and has been a Miami lean ever since.

He's gonna try to appeal to get immediate eligibility, but unless UGA has far bigger issues that we're not aware of, I don't see a case he can really make.

UK is getting a high profile transfer, its been swirling for a few weeks here, but no one will say who. Weve been told its a name we will all know. We should know who this week or next apparently. Just saying, folks are pretty excited about the timing of Fields announcement today. Speculation running rampant.
