Bill Bergen for HoF!
Positives:
Chris Carson - Carson has had a great start to the season. Despite missing a game, he's looking really good to make it to 1000 yards rushing this season - as long as he stays healthy. Oakland is 28th against the run (29th in YPC), so look to Seattle to continue the run heavy offense from the last 3 weeks.
Tyler Lockett - Lockett has been up and down this season, but he's actually had a good start to the year. He's currently on pace for 1100 yards and 12 tds. Baldwin getting healthy will cut into those numbers a bit - but since there isn't any other receiving threat that has been consistent up to this point, the team needs Lockett to continue to get his big plays.
Bobby Wagner - With Seattle facing Beast Mode for the first time since he left to Oakland, and Kendricks no longer able to make up for the absence of K.J. Wright, Wagner will need to step up and lead the defense that has looked like the defense of old at times - and not quite that good
gaah
at others.
Negatives:
Jared Cook - K.J. has been the guy that has been asked to cover the TE in Seattle for years, and Seattle's void in that assignment hasn't yet been felt because the Hawks haven't played a team that uses the TE as a focal point of their offense. Cook has been great this season - already with 2 100 yard games this season. He's averaging 6 catches for 78 yards this year and is 2nd on the team in total yardage.
Ex-Seahawks - Oakland will field Marshawn Lynch and Bruce Irvin - both of which would love nothing more than to have a good performance today against Seattle. Irvin leads Oakland with 3 sacks, while Beast Mode is looking at a 1000 yard pace. Both players will play an important role for Oakland if they want to win.
Injuries - Both teams have been beaten over the head with injuries this year. Seattle (15) and Oakland (22) have a long list of questionable to out players who could've played a pivotal role in the game. Here's hoping both teams get through this week without adding to their injury reports.
Overview:
Seattle has at times looked like a really good team, where Oakland still seems to be looking to find their groove. The Seahawks are going to run the ball a lot - and put pressure on the Oakland defense to not only stop the run, but to get off the field without a huge TOP deficit. Oakland throws the ball a lot - 40 times per game thus far - so Seattle's defense needs to get pressure on Carr, a QB that can beat you if given time, but can be mistake prone.
