Andy Reid not the right coach for KC apparently.

11 carries for Hunt in a game they led most of the game is crazy.

The fact Kelce got hurt would mean Hunt should have received more of the workload.

Just like the Rams game... Gurley was averaging 7.8 yards per carry but he had Goff sling it 45x's...

What does it say about the coach however when the team constantly gets to the play-offs but constantly LOSES in them?

The players didn't execute very well?

The Rams not running the ball when they are averaging 7 yards a pop is just incredibly puzzling to me. Maybe I need to rewatch, but I don't get that one. Hunt was getting 3.8 YPC by comparison for 41 yards; long of 16. I'll be the first one to say the running game doesn't matter that much anymore, but when you're getting efficiency comparable to the passing game, you can't pass that up.

Gurley ran the ball 14 times and was also targeted 10 times as a receiver. That's 24 touches.

The Rams were trailing most of the game and had to get back in it. The best way to do that was throwing the ball. And he was utilized in the passing game.

Gurley was utilized 24 times out of 61 offensive plays.

39% of the time. He wasn't ignored.

Yeah, as I said, I may need to rewatch it, but iirc they got back within 1 score with a reasonable amount of time left, no?

You need to rewatch. The Falcons were stuffing the box to stop the running game. Most of Gurley's yardage came on his last three rushes in the fourth quarter (13, 34, and 8 yards out of a total of 101; the rest of the day he was 11-46, a decent 4 yards per carry), after which he had to be subbed out for several plays to get his wind back. When they got the ball back after that drive, they had about 5:43 left and were down 13, not much time to spend running the ball. They should have used him more, but the game situation dictated otherwise. Didn't help that he was largely ineffective in the screen game as well (with a few drops).

They got within 6 pts with 10:49 left, but didn't get the ball back until 5:43 (following a Julio Jones TD that pushed the deficit to 13).

I was too busy this weekend and wasn't able to watch any football. How did Alex Smith do?

He wasn't to blame. 24/33 for 264 yards, 2 TDs, and no turnovers. Playcalling in the 2nd half was poor as they failed to adjust to Kelce's absence.

I feel like KC losing was karma. Travis Kelce is one of the biggest shit talking douchebags in the entire league to both players and fans and he got knocked the fuck out. Tyreek Hill had slightly more dropped passes than dropped domestic abuse cases against him. And the Chiefs themselves spent the whole year waiting to replace Alex Smith despite the fact that he had an MVP type season for them and has been their best QB in God knows how long.
