The price the Vikings paid wasn’t as steep as you think it was. Consider, in 7 years in the NFL, Sam Bradford has had 6 different Offensive Coordinators. He has been on bad teams where the number one receiver would barely be a number 2 on most teams. Seriously, name a receiver that he played with on the Rams that was any good? My point is many QB’s are either better for their surroundings or worse. Sam has been obviously been in some pretty bad surroundings in his career. I think it’s safe to say that this is the best team and coaching staff he’s ever been around and for once he’ll have the fortune of being better because of it. So Packer fans by all means bash the Vikings for giving up a first round pick for a qb that has the potential to be very good, just remember a few of your first round picks over the last 10 years, Derek Sherrod, Justin Harrell, AJ Hawk. My point is 1st rounders aren’t automatic pro-bowlers, it’s a crap-shoot most times. For every Aaron Rodgers or Adrian Peterson there is a Jamarcus Russell or Trent Richardson.

I'm a Packer's fan and I'm not going to bash them for doing what they believe they needed to do, but I'll say the Kool Ade you're drinking is strong as hell...

Heard everything from "you could've gotten him for a 5th rounder" to "why when Tebow is out there". Reality is Rick Spielman has forgotten more about football that any of you asshats will ever know. Keep up the Vikings bashing; we're used to it. Just remember this conversation when there's a purple skid-mark up the back of the NFC North this season.

Hey now, Hawk is the Packers all time leading tackler so I'd say he worked out pretty well. He wasn't flashy but he was solid. In Sherrod's defense he suffered a horrific leg break against KC and never played the same after it. The Pack has had some pretty bad first rounders though

Just pointing out that looking only at the positives probably isn't realistic. As I stated, I understand why the Vikings traded for him and don't disagree with making the trade. But you do have to ask yourself why he was available if the only thing holding him back was continuity...after all this is a new O and new coordinator also.

He's way better than anything else out there.

Bradford '15: 14 games, 65%, 3725 yards, 7 yds/att, 19 TD, 14 INT, 6 FUM, 86.4 RAT, 41.8 QBR
Davis '14: 10 games, 63.4%, 2001 yards, 7.05 yds/att, 12 TD, 9 INT, 4 FUM, 85.1 RAT, 44.3 QBR

That difference is worth a 1st and a 4th (or 3rd, or 2nd)? Give Davis more starts (was limited by starts in '14, not by injury) and more attempts (lame Rams scheme) and he's right there with Bradford, but immensely cheaper.

If so Philly's compensation goes up. Becomes a first and a third rounder if he makes the title game.

The Vikings are good. A well built defense and that beast with the ball in his hands.

What job did he win last year?

Every time I have watched him play he has this deer in headlights look. Like he's scared and frozen. Giving up a first for him is insane.

My point exactly. Besides, the Browns are stupid. Bradford was not good last year and could've easily been replaced by a Browns backup.

Do you have a quote/link to prove that?
ThenVikings receivers were not impressive. Take AP out of the mix and Minnesota is mediocre at best. To say they will make the NCCG is a bit of a stretch. Replacing a QB who was injured at the worst time. With an injury prone QB at the cost of a first round pick was a steal for Philly.Thats a pretty steep price to pay for damaged goods.

Let's work with the words I used. The Vikings have a shit load of talent at WR.

They do.

In places, but you're the only one to bring up their receivers.... and I believe there needs to be improvement in that area from what they displayed last year. Granted, Charles Johnson was injured for much of the season (even if active), but we need more out of the TE and other receivers.

Someday. So far, he can't beat out Johnson. Patterson's a huge bust. I do like Diggs. Wright is a decent #4 WR type. Thielen hasn't been much to speak of so far. Randolph needs to cut down on the drops, as they all do really (each is around 60-65% catch percentage individually). At least they got rid of Wallace.

Austin didn't have a job. Sam did. There's a reason Sam was allowed to throw when he was playing and Austin wasn't.
