A week or so ago I posted all about the Seattle defense making a comment that it seemed to be aging and a bit over paid. This thought did not go over well with the Seahawk fans.

The funny thing is if you take 15 min to read through the game thread what you will find beinf said by Seahawk fans being very critical of the defense with one even mentioning about the pay they get.

I posted that the Seattle defense even with their amazing front office has not been able to draft any defensive player that is currently a starter in the last 4 drafts.

Is it possible to go through 4 drafts and not have drafted at least one person who is capable of starting on your defense? I am no football expert but in my mind this tells me that the current starters are surely getting older. It also tells me that there are very limited players able to step in behind the current starters.

This type of situation could tend to lead to regression

Talking this week was more important than rallying his defense to play.

They drafted Frank Clark and Jarran Reed on the D-Line, both starter-quality players. But otherwise, they've focused on offense in the early rounds.

You are a fucking sage! The fact that the all pro safety broke his fucking leg doesn't have anything to do with it!

Wagner is 26, Sherman is 27, Chancellor is 28, KJ Wright is 27, and ET is 27. That's the heart of the defense and they were all in their prime.

The ET injury was huge, everybody knew it was huge, he's the general of the defense and now he's gone. Seattle has to deal with it. But to say it's aging is wrong. They threw a lot of money at young players who've proven their worth. Maybe if they could actually draft an offensive lineman that's NFL-caliber then we wouldn't be having this conversation.

The window is closed. Pete Carroll's welcome is about to run out and the 12 will soon be you....all alone :pound:

All those guys have played a lot of football...if you don't think playing those 3 extra games a year takes its toll, you're kidding yourself. I'm not saying they're done, but the game is so violent that those games take a lot out of players. Right now, too many guys are banged up on that D, and it shows

All teams have injuries just depends on the team depth. Try playing 4 games without your top 3 corners and top 3 linebackers all at the same time so take away 6 starters. I saw the team I follow have to do that.

Your players are 26, 27, 28 and they have regressed and that is a fact.

How has the success in the early rounds looked for you on the offense? The drafting must not have been for the O line. And you have had your QB for awhile. I see no decent running backs and you traded for your tight end. Who are these early round offensive players that were drafted?

They deserve all the criticism they will get. Look like a one and done in the post season

One and done means win one then lose the second. If they end up playing the Skins then the Cowboy then that's possible.

We lost a guy who's probably been the best FS in the league over the last 4 seasons late. You don't think there's going to be a little bit of a hit there? They schemed around his abilities.

Meh, Seattle made a conscious decision to pay their stars, which they had to do, and forgo spending money on the O-line. That strategy hasn't worked out. Considering they will have somewhere in the $40 mil range in space while not needing big money for their own free agents, I imagine they will spend some money on the O-line in free agency.

What guy, of the ones you listed, would you not want on your roster right now? Besides ET of course.

If your defense is effected that bad because one player is missing to bad for you. It should be planned for.

You're probably right, the Hawk's window is closing, but they are still one of the best teams in the NFC.

I didn't list anybody. I think they're fantastic football players, but that much football in a short time frame is brutal to those guys that are in the 200 to 240lb range...too many collisions that can go badly
