I said Clowney, but it's funny looking at that list how many guys might have been better off if picked to a different scheme. To me, Clowney is a 4-3 end. Mack, and Barr are 3-4 OLB's, Shazier is a Will. I think they will all do fine, but maybe Donald is in the best scheme fit

Really weak field this draft compared to other years, imo.

Wow, I'd have to disagree with that....I thought this was a really deep draft, with good players coming off in the 3rd and 4th rounds. Guys like Louis Nix and Carl Bradford, mid round studs IMO. Can't wait to find out :suds:

I figured I might get a pushback. I am kind of down on this group in general. I am sure most will disagree.

I think you'll see at least 4 highly productive pass rushers from last year's class

My vote was incredibly biased.

You could well be proven right. The draft is always a crapshoot. For all the scouts and Mags that claim to know everything, the fact is that while most GM's had PManning ahead of Ryan Leaf, virtually all of them had Leaf top 5. And every GM passed Tom Brady 4-5 times each. You never know

Why do you think that? Level of competition?

Barr is the guy that I question

A lot of reasons; I got into it in detail on the 49ers' board's draft thread. I didn't like Mack at all.

Wasn't really sold on Barr either. He was a hard player to evaluate. I'm a little wary of UCLA prospects.

Clowney's a phenom, and he was the #1 pick for a reason.

P.S. I was hating on Datone Jones all offseason last year (not just because he went to UCLA, but that didn't help). I know it isn't exactly scientific to evaluate a player based on what school he attended, but UCLA hasn't exactly set the NFL on fire.

...Since John Ogden that is.

I am pleasantly surprised. I had expected nothing but bandwagon hate for Clowney.

I'm not a hater so I'm going with Clowney until someone else proves it on the field. I really like that he'll be on the same defensive front as JJ Watt, which should help his production.

He is an interesting case study. There hasn't been a guy like him with so much hype and so little production in quite awhile

I'm going to assume that 'Other' will mean 'Michael Sam' if you don't leave a name

Little production? The guy had 8 sacks as a freshman and 13 as a sophomore. And he dominated against the run.

His numbers in college weren't especially different from Julius Peppers' numbers, and Peppers played in the ACC.

...granted Clowney mailed it in as a junior, but he couldn't have improved his stock anyway. I wouldn't have even played in 2013 if I were he.
