Agreed, but some of that is on Fields himself. There has been sufficient footage showing that if he saw the open receivers, the ball would be getting out much quicker. He's too indecisive so far. I'm not giving the OL a complete pass on this, but please don't excuse Fields either.

Im not excusing him,I see this year as his learning curve along with some of it being a little gun shy.......
If not for his scrambling ability,he would be top 1 or 2 in being sacked .......

Burrow,Wentz,Ryan and Winston have been sacked more than JF.....Last I knew, none of them are scrambling qbs......

Strange? We’ve watched the last two games countless times over the past few decades. It’s not strange, it’s quite familiar.

Game 1 was a monsoon so that was strange, the rest is same as usual.

I’d say that the start has been depressing moreso than anything. We all knew the offense was gonna stink. But not only does it stink, we make so few plays in the passing game. And I’m not talking big gainers. Just no plays at all. A simple 10 yard vertical pass gain is like “holy f*cking sh*t.”

We have 235 yards passing on the season. Tua had 199 yards in a single quarter last week. Strange isn’t a strong enough word to quantify that reality.
It's a bit strange to start a season against a (believed to be) SB contender and win in a monsoon. The GB game was standard. The Houston game was just odd all around. We're 2-1 and our ground game looks great. Our D looks solid enough. Yet, the fanbase is pretty much in mourning due to how poor Fields looks.

It's just odd to be where we are record wise and still feel like we're in such a bad spot.

Giants don't look very good tonigh. We're only 3 point road dogs. We will see what another game reveals.

We are 5th in most sacks given up.......JF is running for his life out there.
Theyve shown alot in run blocking, but damn, that run game does no good once we are down.....We will never compete with the good to great teams.....
What? The line looks really good. Fields has all kinds of time. His processing is impossibly slow and he is impossibly hesitant. The sacks are mostly on him.

Honestly, if I had to rank the offense by unit up to this point, I'd have it as:

RBs
OL
WR/TE
QB

And the Receivers-QB ranking can easily be interchangeable, being that neither has impressed to date. Again, I'm not giving the OL a huge thumbs up, but going into this campaign they were pretty much regarded as the offense's weakest link. So far, they're not and in fact are kinda holding their own. And as we've both stated, some of those sacks have been on JF himself. He needs to make quicker reads and get rid of the ball sooner.

I agree. The o-line has performed significantly better than was expected of them-which makes me a lot more concerned than I normally would be about a 2nd year QB in a new system.

Fields is getting reasonable time AND a crazy good ground game around him. Then just airmailing sh*t or tucking and running/giving up on a play long before it is over so far. He looks...bad. Plain and simple. And frankly, if the D and O-line are going to be up to snuff, then we can fix the skill position players with money in the offseason and turn this thing around...but not if we have no passing game because, yet again, our QB is bad.

It's a passing league. We have to be able to pass to a reasonable degree. We're monumentally bad right now even taking into considerations the factors at hand with us rebuilding and, sadly, our history in this department. And yes, these results are somewhat on lacking talent at the receiver positions along with us running a new system/playcalls/etc with a new coaching staff...But the vast majority is basically Fields is not getting it done out there.

I want the kid to pan out so bad...but skepticism and the eye test are starting to prepare me for the worst. See how the Giants game goes. There will be plays out there for him since they like to blitz. Here's hoping he turns it around.

What.....??

They are pure utter trash at pass blocking, run blocking is a diffferrent story, but pass blocking is utter trash.....

The best Ive seen in oline rankings for week three is ranking of 27th......but hey,if you say they are decent then they are.......whatever you say.

For a scrambling qb,hes top 5 in being sacked.........its more than him hanging on to the ball too long.....

Yeah I agree. Just seems like a weird start to the season.
