Game Thread: Week 4: Rams (1-2) at Bears (1-2)

Just an fyi........

The Rams punter Sunday,had a punt further than Taylors 66 yarder with 67......

So far this year:
All but 8 teams have punters kick for 60+ yards......
11 punters have punts further than Taylors 66 yarder.......( his best)
4 punts were 70-74-80 and 84 yards.....
Kicking punts over 60 yards is pretty common,so its really nothing special........

Ps.....Bears punter from last season had a 76 yarder.......

Bears punting records has Taylor tied for 27th for all time Bears longest:

So no,Taylor has not kicked a ball further than any Bear ever.......and not gonna say he cant either........

Ya, did those 65 yarders check up inside the 5? How about switching the entirety of the field, when their offense was doing jack shit?

Nobody said he kicked it farther or the furthest. He did however have the best game by a Bears punter, possibly ever. Your stats mean nothing.

After every Taylor punt Sunday the Bears chance by percentage to win the game actually went up. Because he flipped the field.

Debate a wall. The dude can punt and we are fortunate to have him:

well, the long kicks usually end up with a net around 40 since they outkick the coverage. His bombs were impressive because they were not touchbacks, yet his net yardage is still 18th in the league (at 42).
So he had a great week, dont know if he got named the special teams player of the week or not, but its just one game, just like Swifty had one good game.

When youre kicking 65 plus yarders,its reversing the field.....and Im not about to google every play either,so tell,how many xs do punters get inside the 5.....we see alot of it over a course of the year......its not anything special,it happens.....

Im just complaing because of Poles pick of a punter,when theres bigger needs to help this team,punter was just not it......another Poles fuck up,that happens too,but hey,I listen to everyone elses bitching about this teams doings......this just so happened to be mine.

Not if it outkicks the coverage and he returns it 25 yards, which happens quite often with long punts.

I started nothing, You started whining about a draft pick from 6 months ago, immediately after he had a great game. It's pointless and dumb.

If all you’re doing is looking at punt yardage….sure Taylor is the same as everyone else.

But are you looking at where he’s putting teams in field position? And what the game situation is? Because that’s far more telling.

And let me say this again…..drafting a punter didn’t stop Poles from doing a better job with the OL. The OL problems are separate because Poles has had a lot of picks and cap room to make better improvements.

I realize you’re just gonna stick to your guns now because you’re entrenched in what amounts to a really asinine stance on this wannabe issue. So have it but just understand you’re wrong. And you never should have went down this lane. And once you realized you were wrong you should have just stopped typing.

The fact is Taylor played a huge role in a Bears win. He flipped the field and increased the Bears odds to win a game. There’s no debating that. And to continue to complain about the pick when there were other ways to improve the line is just misguided.
