Federer needs Stan's backhand now. Wawrinka can absolutely attack and charge with his backhand and come to the net with authority like Henin could. Federer is not moving as good as he used to and can't set up his one hander. Plus the shots coming at him have more topspin and pace to them than they did when he was at his peak.

15-30 and Stan just unleashes one hander BH down the line. Amazing stuff that Fed used to be able to do. what's more his forehand has shaped up and now he has a BP early second set.

I've tried to catch as much as I can of this during breaks in the Wisconsin game. Needless to say, Stan is looking really good right now. Nole's not playing well, but he often comes out pretty bad. A lot of the time, he put it back together. Think of last year against Murray, where he played well for three sets after throwing the first two versus Murray. The previous two semis against Fed also come to mind.

At this point, he needs to forget about the first set and a half. He's the same guy that went 15-1 in sets to this point. Just win three in a row.

That said, I hope he doesn't get it together. Stan is my favorite guy left.

Whew Djokovic with the break right back. Don't have a particular rooting interest with Fed gone so I'm just rooting for a 5 set match

Nice forehand winner by Wawrinka on a 27 shot rally. 4-3 Djokovic tiebreak.

If Wawrinka loses this match he will just look back at that 2nd set when he was up a break 4-2 in the 2nd.

Maybe, but a player can't hold serve all the time. Most winners, in long matches, will get broken 2-4 times.

If he loses in 4 sets, with the 4th set a blowout, probably wouldn't have mattered, as he needed to win 2 more sets and play better.

If the 3rd, 4th, and 5th sets are all close, then yeah, the 2nd set was a lost opportunity, but again, it depends on how many times after this he gets broken. If it's none or only once, then the fact that he was only broken twice in a 5 set match was still impressive.

Wawrinka point penalty for racket abuse. (Previous warning for hitting ball into stands.)

Wawrinka loses his focus during the last game and goes down 0-3 in the 4th.
