Training Camp Starts

Today the Rams rookies report and on Wednesday the vets come in and the season has started. Some very interesting battles for positions and lively hoods for the Rams. Will the Rams carry 5 RBs, or who's out? Pettis, Quick, Bailey, questions? I love it, it is time for Rams football 2013. PUMPED!!!!!

The Rams are out of the dismal hole they have been in for a long time. It'll be good to banter from time-to-time. I one of the mods here so I'll keep an eye out for you.

Yea Blue. The next step is here. It'll be fun to watch what transpires this year with all of the new and better talent upgrades. I am stoked to see what happens on offense starting with that O-line that we all agreed last year needed repair. I think they have some quality in that regard. Then of course, all of the speed that was added to the RBs and WRs. TE is packed as well. This will be fun as well.

I am excited... ready to spend the day in Earth City on Wednesday and see what we really have here. BTW, I talked to Spoon yesterday and he is HUNGRY. He says he feels like he is 5 years younger and ready to do more than mentor. I like the attitude personally.... get them ALL starving and ready to eat!

Darken65 is a good guy. He was at NFL.com for a long time. When it shut down he moved to ESPN.

Back to the original post - I don't think there's any chance of the Rams carrying a 5th RB or FB. It would be a waste. Last year we passed more often than we ran. Given the personnel changes i'd expect us to around 64% of the time. Since we completely unproven at RB that % could be even higher. Richardson is the closest thing to a lock at RB. The other spots are up for grabs. I like Stacy's chances given his college reports. Pead's contract is guaranteed so he'll only lose out if there are 4 guys who are clearly better. I've no idea who gets the 4th spot but my guess is that the big RBs will lose out. I think we'll pick up a cheap vet after the 53 man cut.

Its crazy to see that the Cowboys already had Tyrone Crawford go down for the year. Injuries are always such a huge part of the game. Hopefully our training camp will be clean and highly competitive. Lots of starter spots are up for grabs - especially on offense.

For the first time in quite a few years, we Rams fans can look to the new season with optimism. We finally have a FO that seems to know what they're doing, a little consistency with the Offensive scheme (which has to make Bradford happy), and some exciting newcomers on the squad to complement some pretty good players already on Board.

I think the Rams will go with no more than 4 RB's since they will probably use Austin and even Cook out of the backfield from time to time.

Stay healthy. That will be the real key to a successful Pre-Season.

It's always good (even in the down years) to be a Rams fan!!

Jeff Fisher usually doesn't push his players to the extend someone gets seriously hurt in training camp unless it's a fluke occurance. I think we'll be fine and will get through it. However, pre-season games always scare me. We saw Michael Brockers go down last season. I don't wish the injury bug on anyone, but we always seem to get hampered at some point, so lets hope this is the year we avoid it and let someone else have to deal with the bad luck. Go Rams!

MU I am an Illinois boy, lived in Florida and I tend to pull for the Seminoles in football. Illinois is painful to watch.

South Carolina vs. North Carolina on thursday night AUG 29 I believe. Watch out for the Heels as underdogs in this one.

SJ I can't wait for that game. I'm a TA here at Mizzou and the woman I assist is from Chapel Hill but went to USC. I can't wait to see that Cocky team and see what they have on August 29 and especially can't wait until Aug 31 when I can return to my seat at Faurot Field.
