Teams usually don’t get anything worthwhile when trading a superstar. Pelicans should just ride out his contract unless they get something big. Draft picks from teams that are likely going to go deep into the playoffs are useless and solid players in return just put you in nba hell. Good enough to be average and not bad enough to get a high draft pick.
your Bulls did pretty well for Jimmy Butler.

It's a pretty hefty contract. Could see a 1st.
i thought that too- but they owe a 2021 first rounder to the Clippers now....i wonder if they can trade this years pick....maybe they can...

we shall see shortly i assume.

I would be shocked if the Suns just wanted Tyler Johnson for 19M next year. lol

Yeah the Heat definitely need to give up more but I don't even know who the Suns could give them back, assuming this is a salary dump.

You said we wouldn't be able to trade him
not straight up

lets see what you attach

a first rounder? if its anything less than a first rounder its a win for the Heat. Or see whats coming back. Do the suns have any bad contracts?

if you have to trade a first rounder to get off of 1 year of Tyler Johnson then thats a kick in the balls.

maybe TJ Warren?

Warren has a long term contract - but only makes 11M next year.

Warren has 3 years AFTER this year at an average of about 12M a year.

Id guess its either Warren going to Miami - or Miami attaching a first rounder.

I just don't get a player for player trade here. The Heat HAVE to be trying to find ways to create cap space. Then again, I don't see a way for them to cut their cap number enough to matter this season.

Warren for TJ would be an interesting deal

Warren has about 35M left after this year-- but spread out over 3 years--- while Johnson has only next year at 19M

Im not sure who i would rather have to be honest. Probably Warren even though he has more money- 11-12M a year for Warren isnt that bad.

Why would the Suns want to dump Warren?

going from TJ to Warren saves like 7-8M in cap space next year...

Warren goes for a lot longer obviously.

Maybe the Suns think that they will use next year to develop their guys--- and then jump into free agency the next year

then a Johnson v. Warren deal would make sense for the Suns at least

the Heat? I have no clue- if Whieside picks up his 27M dollar option there cap space is crushed pretty much no matter what unless they can make some serious other moves.

my only thought would be beause his contract runs 3 more years

maybe develop all the young guys this year and next year and then jump into free agency- and that they already have SF set with Bridges and Jackson

i dunno

we will have to see what the deal is

It's Ryan Anderson. Which is kinda strange.
