Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if he did them for over a decade. But if we're saying Bonds didn't cheat because there were no official rules with suspensions and testing til that went into effect then you kind of have to give Rodriguez a pass until then. And he put up some great numbers in the seasons before that. I guess it depends on where you cut off his numbers or whether the later career suspensions disqualifies him from being in the all time great list. But again, yeah, he definitely used steroids and probably for a long, long time.

Trout, I don't know about. He's never failed a test that I know of and if he was using some stuff you would think it would help him recover better from these constant injuries.
Trout should definitely start taking them again.

But I do commend you on hiding your hatred for Jeter by taking on the Kalamazoo locale.
You ever run into that dewsher back in the day during the offseason?

I hate his meth head slut sister ever more.

You should hear my Aunt rant about his Dad. Fuckin hates him. Was her boss and her neighbor.

Bonds was my #2 and Mays won that poll, so Bonds is #3. Sorry Ted, I think you were the better hitter but the defense/baserunning/longevity puts Barry ahead (not that Ted had much control over the latter given the wars).

The poll is intended to be asking you…

”Who is the best player ever, not including Mays and Ruth?”.

Teddy Ballgame was certainly the best hitter of all time (think about his career Fenway OBP of .500), but overall, he should be 5-10...

And when you think about the fact that tens of thousands of players (I think the number is close to 20,000) have come and gone through MLB in its 140+ year existence, that is pretty darn good to be anywhere in the Top 25. That 25th guy may get demonized in this forum for all his faults, whoever he ends up being, but he'll still be in the Top .125% of MLB players. Expand that to all the guys who ever played minor league ball (maybe 40,000 but probably low), and it likely goes to Top .0625%. Then, if you include college and high school (spitballing that 100,000 players have played high school, college and/or professional in the US over the same time period. Probably way too low of a number), we are talking about Top .025% all time. Talk about splitting hairs!

If Teddy Ballgame merely lands at number 10 (I don't think I'd put him that low but it will be hard to parse all the guys out for the 5 through 10 spots), he will still be around Top .01% Talk about elite!

Yeah, just eyeballing ESPN's list and they have Tony Gwynn at #44. Thats a heck of a player. Carlton Fisk at #87. These are all great players.

I'll cast the vote lone vote for Honus Wagner. Greatest sS in history, without question. Greatest fielder. 3400+ hits, .328 BA on teams where he was the lone feared hitter most season. Teddy W. was an indifferent defender (and that's being kind). And Wagner wasn't a chemically enhanced freak.

I'm the lone vote for Big Train.

I value pitchers slightly higher.
