it's going to be a can't miss half time show.

Over/under on how many games before Gronk rocks the cutoff hoodie and Arians allows it because he's a "players' coach"?

I'll take the under on 1.5

coulda gotten howard

This was one of the very few times New England's hands were tied. Gronk had all the leverage. NE couldn't afford for him to come back and the only team he'd agree to a trade was Tampa.

I read NE didn't even have the cap space to acquire Howard. The only contract they could re-work to open up space is Gilmore.

At least NE got something.

I think the two together will be much better than people expect.
They might be good, no doubt. Especially with Evans and Godwin on board. That passing game is going to be deadly. That doesn’t change the fact that nobody in the league would give a 1st or 2nd rounder for Gronk this offseason. Even if he wasn’t retired, unless he had an incredible year without injuries last year, he wouldn’t fetch a second rounder. He’s too old.

I'm looking forward to watching Brady fail w/out BB & Kraft...

I think that's what everyone expects but what if the opposite happens? Patriots miss the playoffs while the Bucs go on some deep playoff run?

Naw, it's the other way around: everyone is expecting the Pats to fail and the Bucs to go deep. See the current odds in Vegas: the Bucs are +1100 to win the Super Bowl, way better odds to win the Super Bowl than the Pats at +2500.

Rock is that statement accurate? They free up $10M in Cap space?

By trading him as an active player. Yes. He was owed about 10 mil on his last year of the deal.

The pats are in a difficult position with the salary cap this year. However, I don’t think any of their cap woes are attributable to Gronk. Prior to this trade I don’t believe he appeared anywhere on their “cap hit” numbers.

Now, it’s true that when he unretired his salary would have hit the cap but by trading him I don’t think they “saved” any money on cap. In other words, they are in exactly the same cap position they were last week. They didn’t “free up” 10M from THAT problem.

I was about to ask but just noticed your post above that are the cap woes geared more toward's Brady's dead money and that A$$hat AB's?

A deep playoff run against the NFC West and NFC North? Seattle has had Brady's number I might add. Wilson is 2-1.

I could see Seattle or San Francisco winning in Tampa Bay in January. IF the Bucs even win the division.

Not enough to make up for that defense. Brady isn't built for shootouts anymore.
defense isn't as bad as you think. Tom is clearly in decline, but Jameis in 2019 had the same amount of turnovers that Brady had over the last 4 years.
