Hernandez, Perez and Howard for Ohtani? If not, sweeten the deal with Mitch Garver/Brad Miller? If rentals are cheap then lets get Otanhi. LOL

Well, other than the three championships Jerry's teams won. Very long drought since then, though.
Cheap vs. CheaperIf rentals are cheap then lets get Otanhi. LOL
Like the latter.apparently O's fans are against trading for Ohtani.
The Angels could very well have to settle for a smaller than expected haul, or just end up holding the bag and getting nothing.
He will be our best bet .I'll be at the Grill on Saturday. Don't believe I've seen Dunning pitch before.
Agree that he may be our only betHe will be our best bet .
Me tooLike the latter.
Bowden stated that Ohtani won’t be traded if the Angels play .500 until the end of the month according to an Angel executive he talked to. That could be bs too.
If Moreno really wants to resign him and I think he does then it’s totally possible the Angels will be buyers at the deadline to strengthen their playoff chances for Ohtani.
Seeing Melendez on here made me think to look up Chase Delauter. He came back in June from being hurt. His OPS is at 1.148. Termarr Johnson has a healthy OPS as well. Those three, who I followed closely leading up to last year's draft, are doing well. From Scott Lucas:
Abi Orti has 22 homers in 67 games. Nine minor league hitters have at least 14 homers and HR rate of at least 7% of plate appearances. Their ages:
29 - Austin Allen
29 - DJ Stewart
28 - Bobby Dalbec
26 - Drew Lugbauer
26 - Luken Baker
24 - Elehuris Montero
24 - Jo Adell
23 - Ivan Melendez (Hook 'em)
21 - Abimelec Ortiz
Now where you will see a tremendous difference is if we trade for two months of Stroman vs. us trading Gibson with a year and a half left. We will have to give up a lot more than Philly gave up for a pitcher with a year longer of control and whose ERA was almost exactly the same at the time of the trade as Stroman's is now.I get what you are saying, but we really never had anyone to trade like Ohtani.
With Stroman there is a 2024 Player option that we could require him to opt into the option for the deal to happen & indicate that we agree to negotiate with him on an extension something the Cubs won’t doNow where you will see a tremendous difference is if we trade for two months of Stroman vs. us trading Gibson with a year and a half left. Either way, my point is the same, but I seriously doubt we would even try to do that before the trade. With Stroman there is a 2024 Player option that we could require him to opt into the option for the deal to happen & indicate that we agree to negotiate with him on an extension something the Cubs won’t do
