No More "Bullpen Failure"
I will be glad when trades start happening around the league so the Ohtani talk can be drowned out just a tad.
The media hype really has nothing to do about baseball. The Olney interruption in the middle of the game asking Nevin wa terribleI will be glad when trades start happening around the league so the Ohtani talk can be drowned out just a tad.
I don't see them making it into the playoffs. But go ahead and keep him thinking you are and lose your opportunity to get players.Speaking of ridiculous opinions about Ohtani, apparently the Angels are thinking they might hang onto him and squeak into the playoffs if everything breaks right for them.
Most people on Reddit seem to think this is a good idea, with some even saying that it could help them re-sign him.

I have quite a few friends from California and when they were getting ready to sign Trout to that gigantic contract I said they should trade him and load up players. Trout has a body type that seems it will always be injury prone.
For 2 months?that's the tough choice with Ohtani... he is worth a kings ransom
Hearing that most teams that are being mentioned in trade rumors including the Rangers are insisting that Ohtani agree to a contract extension before their trade for him goes thruYeah….Ohtani staying put might be best case scenario for us. The angels won’t catch us in the division with their pitching and no trout.
I still hate the idea of giving up a kings ransom to a division rival for 2 months of 1 player.
For 2 months?
if we could just extend him, then I’d give up a lot of prospects, but renting him for 2 months and helping the angels is crazy.
I don’t blame them. The angels will expect a ton Just to agree to a trade.Hearing that most teams that are being mentioned in trade rumors including the Rangers are insisting that Ohtani agree to a contract extension before their trade for him goes thru
If we’re 24th in the league at DH, we should be able to upgrade the position without getting #1.yes. He's a top 5 bat AND a quality starter.
The Rangers would go from 24th to 1st at the DH position.
Our 1-2-3 in the lineup would be Semien-Seager-Ohtani, and our postseason rotation would be Eovaldi/Dunning/Ohtani/Gray.
I'm not saying we should do it, but I am saying that I completely understand the appeal of doing it.
Was looking what they were predicting the Rangers would have to give up (Porter, Leiter, Duran, Foscue & Morrobel) just to get him and I’d want an extension too because that’s too much without itI don’t blame them. The angels will expect a ton Just to agree to a trade.

Well add Bellinger and Ohtanigoes without saying
Good correlation.they need to do a proper rebuild, and they won't get a better opportunity than trading Ohtani. Probably should have done that with Trout too, yeah. Moreno is like Jerry Jones, likes to make big splashes but has no clue how to actually build a team.
Well, other than the three championships Jerry's teams won. Very long drought since then, though.Moreno is like Jerry Jones, likes to make big splashes but has no clue how to actually build a team.
Very good list.My wish list:
1) A good hitter
2) A quality starter (maybe a #3 starter)
3) A really good set up reliever (doesn't have to be a closer)
Rentals are fine since they are cheaper.
If rentals are cheap then lets get Otanhi. LOLVery good list.
