The Sixers dont have anyone who can shoot... thats for sure. Thats why they wont be good next year even if Simmons does pan out to be a star. But it's a philosophy that I think the 76ers have. You need to take the player you think is the best, regardless of the need. I agree with the philosophy even if it doesnt work short term.
Yeah, I see your point.

I guess the disconnect between our differing opinions comes from the fact that we have different players rated #1.

It is a good day to be a Lakers fan. Funny that again the Lakers are stealing the show from the Clippers
Lakers won't get Ball............................

Sixers and Celtics will swap picks and Philly will grab Ball.

Why would the 76ers trade up to grab a ball dominant point guard when they have Ben Simmons?

Well if youre talking about Simmons running the point offensively... I agree. But they need someone who can defend Guards and Simmons cant guard todays lightning quick little guys. THats why I am intrigued with Ball. He is a good defender.
I would go Fox.

If you aren't going to give Lonzo the ball, he loses a lot of his value.

Yes, Fox is smaller.

But, he can defend and score.

Im not suggesting Lonzo would be reduced to Andre Roberson.

I just don't see him ever being a big scorer.

Philly is already deep at PG, they'd need to move at least one of them if they go PG.
That would give them an opportunity to add a pure shooter at SG through trade.
JJ Redick is looking for a new job.

This is the 6th thread started about either Lonzo or Lavar since the end of April. 6.

Obviously Lavar's antics are working. LeBron doesn't get this much thread love.

I have no idea what they are thinking but if they do swap I'd expect Fultz. I really want to see what Simmons and Ball could do together both being fantastic playmakers. But they'd still be in desperate desperate shape for shooters.
Center= Embid (Cant shoot)
PF= Saric (Not a great shooter)
SF= Simmons (Poor shooter)
SG= No one worth mentioning. Maybe Golden State would have pity on our 10 years of crappiness and send us over one :)
PG= Ball (Cant shoot) or PG= Fultz (OK shooter)

Embiid shot .367 from 3 this season. Stauskas shot .368. Saric might improve his shot. Henderson shot .353. Covington is a career .354 shooter from 3. Bayless is a career .366 shooter from 3. Even Richaun Holmes hit at .351.

I agree that they need shooters but they have some guys who can hit it from outside at a decent rate. They would benefit from a guy who can hit close to 40% of his 3s but they aren't completely worthless from long range, especially if some of the young guys improve their shot.

How are they deep at PG?

Simple question, answer it.
Seriously? Ball hasn't even played a game and you're already trying to compare this kid to a seasoned veteran player that has been to the finals repeatedly?

We're not talking about Lonzo, we're talking about his dad Lavar, against Jordan.

So always taking the best player has not only gotten you a logjam of bigs...it's also gotten you a bunch of guys who can't shoot.

Brilliant strategy. Pure, unadulterated genius. :thumb:

Because when you collect talent you can trade them away for talent. When you draft for need your chance of selecting a bust goes up. Id didnt work with Noel or Okafor but the Sixers had them ranked higher on their boards then the other players. Luckily it looks like they got great value getting Saric who was a mid first round pick and better then anyone on the Lakers. Then they hit big time on Embiid who the Lakers could only dream of having and hopefully Simmons turns out to be a stud too. I'm just glad we arent LA and grabbed 3 average players over the last 3 years.

He's an old man - there is no comparison to a current championship player. Lavar would have a heart attack and have to be rushed to the hospital

Jordan isn't a current championship players, he's been retired 15 years.

I suppose, I was thinking of LeBron really, but no comparison to Jordan - Lavar is no worthy of the comparison

I honestly think Lavar could beat Jordan rather easily.

So you think a 48 year old retired football player who was tight end without any superbowl titles would easily beat the greatest NBA Basketball player of all time and has 6 championships?:L
