Looked like Torres left the ice just prior to the hit on Hossa...

Dear Mr. Shanahan (and the GMs currently reading this over his shoulder):

Step One: apply gloves, this could get messy.
Step Two: Grasp at neck tightly.
Step Three: Pull hard to remove head from ass.
Step Four: Watch video of Raffi Torres clearly not learning anything from the slaps on the wrist you have given him for his actions.

Seriously, the ONE time they've actually been harsh with a punishment outside of the insanely brutal/idiotic (Chris Simon or Todd Bertuzzi), was Cooke...and LOOK! HE LEARNED! So, why not do that again?

What kind of awful people would employ a player like Raffi Torres on a team they owned?

I laughed at this at first because of the Lemieux allusion...then I remembered who owns the Yotes.

The way this playoffs is going, it's going to be the Kings/Preds against the winner of the Devils/Panthers for the Cup. Everyone else is going to be beat up as hell before the end of the first round.

Have you seen my 5/20/82 proposal?

Devs/Preds got a bit nasty tonight too...never seen such a physical postseason. Hard hitting physical, sure, not cheapshots though. It's tarnishing the playoffs.

Am i here to do all of your work, :D

I don't get why everyone is so upset! Torres saw Hossa coming and knew he couldn't avoid him by turning, so he tried to jump over him! Unfortunately, it's hard to get really vertical on your jumps when you are a giant shitbag. It's like a potato sack race, you just can't get much height.

Mayyyybe? Is it just the first, second, third offense type thing? The only issue there is that they'd be less likely to suspend guys at all...

The way I would write it would eliminate a lot of the subjectivity, though some would still exist, but I'd kind of design it to force the league to enforce minimum suspensions for certain kinds of hits.

At the very least, it should apply to any attempt to injure situation which isn't a hockey play, like punching a guy down on the ice.

Though I would prefer it to also automatically apply to any Rule 48 hit, regardless of severity.

A broader scale for boarding and knee-on-knee and slewfoots.

And huge fines.

I also have specifics on playoffs, too.

I'm not sure that they meant "unresponsive" in that tweet about Hossa. Said he wasn't moving, however, to someone who has no idea what the intent of the spineboard is, they'd think that. Spineboards IMMOBILIZE you. It's sort of intentional.
