There are no successful teams that have QB competitions. They dedicate everything to the starter and they improve them as they go. When Brett Favre first retired, GB stood behind Aaron Rodgers and locked out a Hall of Famer to stand behind their choice. Belichik did the same thing when Bledsoe went down. You name a starter and you stick with them. If you bring in 47 people and divide the reps and let bad games take away from the guys reps he'll never improve, you'll shatter his confidence and he'll fall apart. It's just stupidity.

How can coaches at the NFL level not know this?

There are only two types of QB competitions in the league:
1) A team either has a young guy that has potential trying to prove he is ready to be the guy and beat out a vet.
or
2) The team doesn't have a good QB on the roster and they are trying to figure out who is the best of a bad bunch.

I would think the Eagles are choosing method #2.

Perhaps Sanchez can teach the others the "butt-fumble"

I don't think that there is any doubt that that is the Phili situation. It's no about who is the best....it's about who isn't the worst. Kelly will continue to look to upgrade that position next year if he is still around to try.

Tim Tebow, Mark Sanchez, Sam Bradford. All formerly first stringers. I think the Eagles have the best chance with Bradford (if he stays healthy) with Tebow on the bench.

You have no idea what kind of QB Garoppolo is going to be and you are already calling it a nice lineage.

Ummm...okay

You're missing the part when he said "potential." And if he lives up to it, yes, nice lineage indeed.

You have no idea when Brady will quit and no idea how Garrapolo will be. In fact, you have no idea at all.

Get over it. You will have to find a way to beat the Pats the hard way.

It's amazing how you take a QB for granted when you get one. The Bills have not had one since Kelly. The Dolphins look like they finally have one in Tanny. It took the Cowboys years to find Aikman's replacement. Once you get one of those guys you lock them up for their careers.

I didn't say half of what you have me quoted as saying. You are a liar just like your QB.
