They are on their way down and we are up and coming so hopefully it wont last long.
They're fucked. The oldest team in the Nhl for now 3 years running and they've accomplished nothing in that stretch. Also, they have only 1 pick in the first two rounds of the next draft, so there's no youth incoming.

As of right now, they don't have a single starter younger than 25.

We have 6...and that's not counting York/Drysdale because they are on IR. Plus, 4 other starters who are exactly 25 and another when Frost dresses, but he's out tonight.

We're in way, way better shape, even if we don't have enough elite talent/skill yet.

I believe he is only allowed to play 10 games on the big club before we cant slide him up and down anymore and he's already played 4. I think he is probably going to stay down unless we are way out of a playoff spot with 6 games to go.

Is the 10 game rule same for Barkey and Bonk?
10 game rule is for those guys too young for the AHL (those under 20).

NHL entry-level contract rule
When a junior eligible player plays in their 10th game, the first year of their three-year entry-level contract is "burned". This means that even if the player is sent back to junior at any time after that, the first year of their contract is used up

Easy to root for Bob over the Flyers when the Flyers fucked all us real fans over by getting rid of him.
Well, I hope you and Bob have a happy life together.

Idk about you, but I'm a fan of the team and that doesn't waver based off of one decision or one player amongst thousands of them.

That was 12 and a half years ago. Entirely different franchise back then, top to bottom.

Get the fuck over it.

Or, you can keep crying.

It was Snider being an absolute dumbass. It's his franchise. Ed Jerry jones Snider. Completely fucked it up. We had the goalie. It took 40 years but we finally had him!

I haven't had hockey to watch in this city for over a decade. My kid has never been alive for a worthwhile Flyers team. That's Ed's fault. He can't fuck it up anymore, but we are still living with his blunders.

Should've probably had a touchdown with a two-point conversion worth of goals tonight, but we will take the two points. It's wild to see Emil Andrae on the top pairing and at the point on the top power play unit, getting over 25 minutes of ice time!! Forget about Drysdale, this might be our guy all along. He's grown by leaps and bounds over last season.

Konecny remains scorching hot, although he's not cashing in near as often as he should be. Michkov re-enters the fold and immediately provides a spark of offense. The kid is a difference-maker, especially on the power play, in the overtime and in the shootout. Essentially, that's whenever there is more space out on the ice. These are the exact areas that we've struggled at for years now, so it's very refreshing to see.

Ersson hasn't missed a beat and still looks solid. We definitely still need to clean up the 2nd period. It is absolutely killing us, nearly every damn game.

As exciting as these recent games are, I'd just as soon not take every single game to a shootout....Rofl

We're slowly making our way back to respectability at 6-8-2 with 14 points, technically now clear of Pissburgh, with one game in hand. Btw, they got stomped 7-1 by the Stars tonight. Gave up 6 goals in the 1st period...:pound:

The biggest issue I see with the lines at this point is you have speed in a couple of forwards on each line, who can drive the play up ice and start a rush, but as soon as they enter the offensive zone it becomes either a shoot quick and hope for a bounce or let the slower player(s) catch up and try to set something up which usually leads to being stripped of the puck.

Emil Andrae was the best player on the ice for both teams.

TK could've had 4 goals plus the shootout winner. he plays with so much heart gotta love his desire.

Excellent job of Johnson stepping in for Michkov but that was a funny fight. it looked like he never fought anybody ever.

Michkov shootout goal, i felt sorry for that goalie he never had a chance.

I cant wait until Foerester wakes up we will be rolling if that happens.

We jump a few spots in the standing. Onward and upward.

We need Andrae and York and find a way to get a nice return for Drysdale. We cat have all three really small defenseman for an extended period of time.
Our core four appear to be Andrae/York as the youngsters and Seeler/Sanheim as the vets.

Maybe Risto gets traded for a first if a playoff team loses a defenseman for the year?
Just have to hope that either Drysdale or Zamula can join that group, maybe with some seasoning?

IMO having York, Drysdale and Andrea as really small defenseman in one line up is playing with fire.

I was thinking we could get a nice return for Drysdale a 22 year old right defenseman with offensive skill.

We have Bonk as a righty young Dman knocking on the door ready to join the big club full time as early as next year.

Just my opinion not set in stone.

Bonk will definitely be in the mix.

I don't think you'll get much for Drysdale if he cannot stay healthy.

I have been meaning to ask the board this question for so long and always forget:

Does anyone know why every third period the Flyers channel cuts to a commercial in the middle of play??
