I'm not taking anything away from him, but I'm pretty sure Tippett's clutch, game-tying backhand ramped up off the stick of the defender Moser, otherwise it may have been stopped by Vasilevskiy. No shame. He drove to the net hard and let it fly. We need more shooters that can just let it rip and beat a world class goalie like that. Then, he technically won it in the shootout by beating the Vezina & Conn Smythe winner with a wrist shot low glove after Konecny had beaten him high glove. Was pretty damn surprising, in the moment.

You can't really question Jon Cooper and his resume, but idk what the fuck he was thinking sending out Goncalves and Hedman as his first two shooters. A 23 year old kid with 4 Nhl games to his name and no points. Then, a defenseman...albeit an elite one, but past his prime a bit and not really known for his goal scoring.

Another huge test today at 6 pm eastern against the defending Cup champs, who are also 10-3-1 on the season. Regardless, I didn't think we could win one of these three road games without Ersson, so I appreciate the effort and resiliency.

Finally this team is showing glimpses of how good we were for long stretches of last season.

Probably unlikely, but anyone watching the Flames/Sabres game this afternoon? It's the first game of the day. Late in the 2nd period, one ref has his arm up for a delayed penalty against BOTH teams. It's going to be roughing against two players at center ice. However, no whistle is blown. Meanwhile, the Flames go up ice and score. The other ref near the play signals goal. They huddle up and the goal is allowed. WTF!?!? LOL

Again, I don't know what some of these referees are smoking, but if there's a penalty against BOTH teams, that's an automatic whistle. No team should be able to possess the puck, let alone shoot it on net. Yeah, the plays were pretty close together in time, but in the slow-motion replay, I can see one ref with his arm up before the goal is scored. They didn't even officially review it, they just allowed the goal...Lol

Wow, we should've taken that one in South Florida, but our old friend Bob robbed us!! I counted five breakaways in the overtime alone that we could not score on. Farabee (x2), Konecny, Brink and Sanheim. Konecny and Brink had their chances again in the shootout and both missed. Tippett was our only shooter to score and he had the game on his stick with about 3:40 left in regulation too. Again, denied. 34 saves for Bob and I'd give him the #1 star, especially in securing the second point.

Our boys keep plugging here and going play for play with a few of the top teams in the Nhl. I sure hope that means we're about to destroy some of the mediocre teams on the upcoming schedule.

Not trading away Risto has shockingly provided dividends because now he's playing like a real Nhl defenseman. Plays that come to him just get erased. He's making the right passes, stepping up in the offensive zone and being physical too. He's not getting victimized routinely like he used to. In fact, he's now one of the strengths of the team. Ironically, now, we could probably trade him anytime, but why would we!? Lol

For the love of God, get Michkov back in there!! We can definitely use the offensive firepower!! On a side note, Andrae is looking really good on our second power play unit. The results aren't there yet, but he can really skate and move the puck.

So far with the exception of the Canucks, we have beaten the Bruins, The Wild, The Blues, The Bolts,Took the Oilers And Panthers both to OT(Panthars got help from the refs on an obvious no goal call) so yes there is definitely a lot of room for improvement still but at least we are competing with the top tier teams. Now if we can just figure out the bad ones.

Man that game against the Panthers was AWESOME!!!! We were all over the place cutting off time and space.

We dominated 75% of that game against the defending Stanley cup champs.

We dominated OT! Bob stood on his head or we win that game and take 4 points in Florida!

We got goals from Anthony Richard and Hathaway!! That's how to play team hockey!!

Owen Tippett played like an all star that he may be soon.

It would be so great if any of our centers could put up points especially Couts who is getting paid the most.

Who else wants to see Barkey, Bonk, and Luchanko play more time with the big squad this year? These kids are lighting it up, they don't have to come on full time yet but I'd love to see players like Delaurias, and others who aren't producing be switched out constantly for this youth movement. Obviously we aren't in a win it all place this year, So why not let them get their licks this season and then next season they replace Delauris, Risto and probably Laughton.

I agree, the center position is definitely hurting.

Id like to see Barkey. Bonk may be on the team if we makes some trades or a couple of injuries. Luchanko i would like to see him develop an entire year in the minors as he just turned 18 like 4 months ago.

I agree on the development, but I think some games in the big league here and there would show growth.? See where improvements need to be made with each player.

Easy to root for Bob over the Flyers when the Flyers fucked all us real fans over by getting rid of him.

I believe he is only allowed to play 10 games on the big club before we cant slide him up and down anymore and he's already played 4. I think he is probably going to stay down unless we are way out of a playoff spot with 6 games to go.

Is the 10 game rule same for Barkey and Bonk?

This is the rules id have to look up what type of contracts each of the has:

Key points about the waiver rule:
  • Two-way contracts:
Players on a two-way contract (split salary between NHL and AHL) can usually be sent down to the minors without clearing waivers, depending on the specific terms of the contract.
  • One-way contracts:
Players on a one-way contract (only NHL salary) typically must clear waivers before being sent down to the minors.
  • Veteran exemption:
Players with a certain number of NHL games played may be exempt from waivers when being sent down to the minors.

They could definitely trade him. It's perhaps worthwhile at some point, but I don't think there's a rush either. We sure as hell don't need another pick in the '25 draft...Lol

I would say if we could eat some salary and let him go at the deadline for a really nice prospect, then do it. We would probably be eating some of his salary for the next two seasons also though.

Now isn't the time anyway, for sure, with York and now Drysdale both out injured. If Drysdale is going to be this frail, it's going to be really difficult to believe that he can develop into anything significant.
