But it apparently doesn't matter. Todd Richards is bringing his exciting Minnesota Wild brand of hockey to Columbus:

-- The goal this season is for the Blue Jackets to be one of the harder clubs in the NHL to play against. They want to be a high-energy, hard-forechecking club that can wear you down but rolling four lines. That's the planned identity, anyway. However, after 3 1/2 days of training camp -- they had half-session on Wednesday -- the Blue Jackets did not skate yesterday, citing fatigue. Is this a concern? "No, it really doesn't concern me," Richards said. "If you take a look around the league and read the press notes, a lot of teams are saying the same things. The consensus (among coaches) is that in most cases, by Day 3 or Day 4, the players are (tired). You can't duplicate the pace in the summer. You can't duplicate what we did the first three days of camp when you're out skating with your buddies. Is it right? Is it wrong? We're making decisions for what we think is best for our team."

The roster:
