Devils have 8 NHL ready D men....anyone got a spare goal scorer or 2?

There was an article in the Buffalo paper the other day that they have 9 up currently. Only 2 can't be sent down and any of them would have to clear waivers.

Definitely gonna lose somebody to waivers.

I didn't realize he was the 5th overall pick in the 1999 draft (Islanders)

TSNBobMcKenzie: As per @DarrenDreger, TOR will put Tim Connolly on waivers today.

:L I had him pegged as #2 center in T.O. just picked him up in the pool.
turns out he's just a big pile of #2.

I was never a Tim Connolly fan. Thought the Leafs were crazy to sign him when they did.

Just say no to Connolly, Feaster. Yeah, the Flames need help at the centre ice position, but Connolly is not the answer.

Edit: Should Connolly clear waivers, he could be bought out of the final year of his contract, which carries a cap hit of $4.75 million this season.

Yeesh.

I didn't realize he was the 5th overall pick in the 1999 draft (Islanders)

Considering the way the Isles rushed Connolly it's a credit to him & his talent that he's had a long NHL career. He played immediately for the Islanders right after the draft. Butch Goring was the head coach at the time. He knew in training camp Connolly wasn't ready, but it wasn't his decision to make. The Islanders were a mess that year.

The Canucks have placed Andrew Gordon and Derek Joslin on waivers.

The way Garth is working the waiver wire any defenseman could be picked up. Joslin could be given a shot, we'll see. Hickey looked good in the scrimmage yesterday. Scott Pellerin coached him in Manchester. He's now coaching the Isles AHL team & recommended picking Hickey up.

OHL trade deadline has come and passed, no?

I have no idea? I follow the Isles prospects, not the league as a whole. I watched a game awhile back on NHL network between Niagara & London. Niagara looked like a 1 line team against the Knights. They'll make the playoffs & maybe win a round or two, but I doubt they make it to the Memorial Cup. They went for it last year & came up short.

Anybody surprised that Gomez and Redden have both cleared waivers? Didn't think so.
