I guess I should have highlighted my specific area. I wasn't even thinking about logical, more just the idea of Feaster actually acknowledging that the Flames wouldn't make the POs.

Yeah, that part as well - It's tough to pull the plug on a season, points are one thing, but the number of teams that you need to leapfrog is probably even more important (espeically in a shortened season). Flames need to be within two points of a playoff spot on trade deadline day to even consider going for it, otherwise it's time to get some draft picks.

While I agree with your sentiment, history has shown us that Feaster is likely to be slightly more optimistic.

As we inch closer to deadline day...who are sellers? It's still difficult to picture totally, but at this point I'd say Buffalo, Washington, Florida (they have no healthy players to sell...), Tampa? Then out West it's tougher, but Colorado, Dallas, Calgary? They're much tougher to give up out there though...much closer.

After this week Garth should know exactly where the Isles stand. Apparently they're attempting to resign Nabokov, Streit, Visnovsky & Boyes. The Isles play Ottawa, Montreal & Pittsburgh by Friday's end. The players they don't resign will likely be on the trade block.

I thought Streit was one of those guys that could be on the block? It's obvious that they want Tavares to be the captain, so isn't that the easiest way for it to go down?

They're trying to resign him & the other 3 pending UFA's. If deals can't be worked out & the Isles lose their next three games all 4 could be gone by the deadline. We'll just have to wait & see.

Ryan Miller needs a change of scenery (so does Tyler Ennis)

TSNBobMcKenzie: No surprise, but Andrej Sustr, 6-foot-8 Univ of Nebraska-Omaha junior dman (UFA), has officially decided to leave school/field NHL offers.

6'8" - Get on it Feaster.

Being 6'8" doesn't guarantee much, if you know what I mean...

Sustr has skated with Pens and TBL development camps in the past...but I'm pretty sure every team is in on him.

I hope for their sake the Isles bring those guys back. They still have a potential ace in the hole with Ryan Strome. Maybe bring in a stay at home vet for the blue line and that is a dangerous team.

I don't expect the Isles to sign all 4 guys. Visnovsky did bring his family back with him to get a feel for the area. It all depends on what they want & what Wang is willing to pay. Defenseman are tough to come by these days. Of the four I think Nabby will be the easiest to sign. Something like 1 year 3M.

No surprise, Komisarek clears waivers and will report to the Marlies...
