Kinda (lost Volpatti to waivers) - I think I'd rather have Volpatti than Sestito as he brings quite a bit to the table.

same but nothing I can do about it :D and I dont want to get jstew going on it anymore :D

after seeing Sestito this weekend, I think they can manage his minutes and he has a chance to be effective in his role

He can glide (... if not skate lol)

All I know is Loktionov appears to be the real deal so far. In 6 games he has 3 goals, 2 assists and is a +3. He's one of the few players on the Devils that has had a pulse the past 2 weeks.

Bobby Butler being put on waivers was a bit of a strange move so maybe there is something in the works.

I was thinking that they'd start a fire sale...but how much can they really sell and still be above the salary floor? The floor is 54.2 and they're at 58.6. I think Weiss would benefit greatly from a change of scenery. Really though, looking at their roster, there's not a lot I'd want from them. Huberdeau...Campbell (not at that price)...Weiss for cheap...that's about the end of it.

you should look a little deeper. they have one of the strongest systems in the league.
Bjugstad, Howden, Petrovic, are all pretty good assets

I think this guy could be a pretty good NHL player, he tore it up in junior with Moose Jaw - Looks like he is having a so-so season with the Rampage in the AHL.

Versteeg and Fleishman were ridiculous against the Devils in last years playoffs so they may not be the worst options.

Don Taylor would love the Canucks to acquire this guy...

Bob McKenzie ‏@TSNBobMcKenzie
In addition to NSH claiming Bobby Butler from NJD on waivers, PIT puts Zach Boychuk on waivers.

The Flames should put Comeau on waivers, but there would be no takers. I loathe Comeau like Matty loathes David Booth.

Breaking it down...one item of concern about Brown that jumps off the page is that he's missed 68 games due to injury since start of 10-11.

yikes.

RE: prospects I don't think that Florida is gonna part with their youth, just a hunch. I'd take them, but I'm trying to be realistic in who's going to be put on the block.

RE: Versteeg/Flash. I'd love either of them, but not with their contracts. When looking at the contracts Weiss is really the only guy I'd like. Fleishman KILLS the Pens, so naturally I'd like him on the team. Versteeg's deal is just way too long. And I don't want either of them for $4.5M.

I don't understand why they don't give the starting goalie spot to Markstrom. At this point their season is over. He was drafted in 2008. They need to find out if he's ready for the NHL.

markhmasters: Leaf players got a chance to say good-bye to Brown this morning; MacArthur: 'Obviously he’s upset ... he’s got a lot of friends here'

They are ... for now

if he takes the reigns and shows he's the #1 then I dont see why they shouldnt annoint him that either

BUT

where theres smoke, theres fire ... Lebrun has said all along that Tallon loves Luongo (I dont know why?) and then theres the matter of this "hush hush" Vegas dinner the Panthers owner had with Luongo during last summer that canucks ownership had zero problem with ... no screams of tampering

was it Luongo just trying to sell himself again ? LOL
