It's really too soon for most clubs. Anyone is still in the postseason game at this point, so we're still a few weeks from moves. GMs will still want to hold on to hope. I mean, the Isles especially.

Actually there have already been a few deals. Some of the so called experts have been saying once game 10 hits teams will have a good idea of what they need.

Deadline day was meaningless last year. The biggest trade was Jeff Carter going to the Kings & it didn't happen on deadline day.

I dunno, I think deadline day will be a bit bigger this year. There's been ups and downs with it. I still think we're about 2 weeks from substantial moves. In other words, the "normal" deadline day will be when things heat up. But, I'm no expert, just going with my gut.

I wish your team the best of luck in finding someone to fill the need. It won't be easy. A lot of teams are in dire need of D help.

For the most part if a team can get their hands on a good, solid defenseman... they lock them up quick. Even the bottom feeders or rebuilding teams tend to hang on to a guy who really takes care of his own zone, even if they aren't going to make the playoffs they still want someone who can teach the young guys defensive responsibility. St. Louis easily could have traded Barrett Jackman for some quality youth but instead hung onto the guy. It's really hard to pry someone like that from any team.. so yeah, I have pretty low hopes for snagging a guy like that this year at the deadline. I also anticipate a lot of teams to be in the mix for a playoff spot.

Chris Campoli's deal with Geneva-Servette Eagles of Swiss National League fell through due visa issues.
His NHL UFA status remains intact.
