With a shortened season I doubt you see a lot of trades because so many teams will still be in it.

The Isles play Pittsburgh & NJ this week. By Friday they could be out of it.

Flames have a mini-camp this week as they played Saturday night against Edmonton and don't play again until Thursday night against Colorado. More practice time is just what Dr. Recchi ordered.

Actually with the way the Flyers have been playing. I wouldn't mind the Isles playing them right now. Especially if Leighton is between the pipes.

I'd rather the Isles play a beat up Flyers team than Pittsburgh or NJ right now that's for sure.

So the Devils sent Tedenby down to the AHL again. I just don't think he's a good fit for the Devils. Tons of speed, great hands, but hasn't put it all together and put points up. He's small and doesn't play D, which is a problem when you play for a team that thrives on backchecking. He'd be much better suited for a high flying, fast paced team.

That's the way I see it, especially with 100% of games being in-conference. Nobody will want to give up on the season too quickly because a 5 game win-streak down the stretch could be gigantic.

whoever signs him, he would need to clear waivers as he played over there after Jan 21.

I always assumed it was current standings on the day of the claim.
never really looked into it further than that.

Boychuk is a local kid (Airdrie is practically Calgary these days) and is tearing up the AHL. Flames should put in a claim (and dump Blake Comeau, man, Comeau is just terrible)

leading the AHL right now ... I would say canucks should have a go because hes a centre but im afraid we have enough midgets down the middle already
