They have some grade A prospects in Grand Rapids and Ken Holland/Jim Nill are two of the best in the business. With an excellent 2013 draft, this may be the year to miss the playoffs.

According to Katie Strang, Nino Niederreiter's camp has asked the Islanders to trade him.

This is hilarious. He's developing nicely in the AHL. It's where he should be this season. The Isles should tell his agent to stick it where the sun don't shine.

I actually like the pickup, we need depth and we need it even more with the compacted schedule. If he can play solid two way hockey and has a cheap price tag, I'll be happy.
