Spurs are tied with Clippers and are half a game [one more loss] behind the Rockets and Grizz.
Spurs play @Rockets Friday night, 7pm CDT.

Spurs have head to head tie-breaker over Clippers and Rockets.
Spurs lose tie-breaker to Grizz because they have a worse Conference record.

Spurs need to win out and have Grizz lose two games, probably to the Clippers and Golden State on Saturday and Monday, respectively, to get the #2 seed.

If Spurs just win out, they get the 3 seed.

[someone check my facts]

Addendum: I guess Spurs need Clippers to lose one to jump the Clippers..

I hope the Warriors meet the Spurs in the playoffs. I know most Dubs fans want Spurs eliminated before meeting them but Ive always preferred to see my team get challenged, if the Warrios win the championship, it would make it even sweeter knowing that they had to face a juggernaut getting there.

But I hope SAS make it to the two seed, I prefer a Mavs/Spurs matchup over Mavs/Rockets.

Id also like to see Clips vs Rockets

I just want them to win the next game
It is a bit premature to be expecting a sweep of the Rockets, Suns, and Pelicans

I have been resigned to the 6 seed for a while now
All those losses to Memphis, Porltand, and Houston with half-assed makeshift rosters early in the season hurt.

At least Parker, Splitter, Mills, ginobili, and Leonard were injured in those games.
But Popovich trying to be cute by resting his players in game 4 of the season?? Comes back to bite his ass....

That Popovich "making a statement" loss is the key tiebreaker for every scenario.

How do I have more confidence in the spurs than you do?

Say it with me Horns: THE SPURS WILL BE AT LEAST A 3 SEED

I just dont see how its possible.
I think the Clips will beat the Grizz at home.
But, the Spurs would still need Memphis to get one more loss (GSW, Utah, Indy)

And that is assuming they can even beat Houston at Houston...which is not a given.

I cannot see enough Clipper or Grizzlie losses.
I guess the Grizz could beat the Clips...and make it slightly easier for the 3.

Regardless of what seed the Spurs get, NO ONE wants to see them in the playoffs.

Passing clippers would be difficult but Memphis is very possible. They can easily lose 3 of 4

What yew sed.

Spurs have been crushing mofos lately. I don't think it will matter very much where they are seeded, these guys look like a lock to get to the WCF.

Maybe Popovich's early season resting dealie has worked out after all, because this team of oldies doesn't look all that exhausted right now.

I think the Spurs may have the tiebreaker with Memphis based on conference record.

It is a tremedous longshot.
I am not even sure killing themselves for the 2/7 versus Dallas is all that great anyways.

Dallas is a pain in the ass come playoff time for SA.
Cuban hates SA for some reason.
Even the Lakers and Suns just are trash talking rivals....intense but still only sports..

There is no actual deep rooted hatred and ill will.

In some way, it might be better to not deal with Dallas.
It takes way too much emotional energy.

Nope Memphis conference record is 34-15 while San Antonio is at 30-19

Thanks. Thought I had read somewhere that the Spurs owned that tiebreaker. Guess they were wrong or I was high.

The Spurs are 19-3 since Feb 27th. Their wins have been by an average of 18 points. Only one win was not a double-digit win: a 9 point win over Denver on Mar 6th. Two of their three losses were in overtime. The other loss was to Dallas, a team they clobbered three days later.

The Spurs are the team to beat... id favor the spurs to win the west if they get the 2 seed and have a showdown with GS in the WCF's.. Spurs are just as deep and have infinitely more playoff experience. Also, I want to see the warriors get crushed so their fans come back down to earth.

Wouldn't you if you were Cuban? Dallas and San Antonio are always running into each other and Dallas played them well last year.

Still, if you put the Western Conference into point differential tiers, its:

Golden St

Clippers
Spurs
Portland

Memphis
Houston
Dallas

Thunder
New Orleans

I'm rooting for Memphis but thats how you'd have to group the West in terms of contenders except Id jump the Spurs over the Clippers. The two teams no one wants in rd 1 are the Warriors and the Spurs.
