They may not be able to win a game now that their chemistry is all screwed up.
0-82, that's pretty funny and would totally suck, but hey even the '72 Sixers won 9 games!

Is this any good? Am I supposed to put a Nets Logo back in my favorites?

Brook Lopez will be 30 next season. And he will be a UFA after next season. They traded him and got a 21 year going into his 3rd season.

Hard to say whether Russell/Mozgov will be more effective than 1/3 Lin/Lopez but I'd say that if Russel can stay healthy they are on the right track.

And there is a feeling around these parts, that Lopez' "feet" problem is a ticking time bomb

#3 pick in a draft 2 years ago, this is a great move for the Nets, although its not a bad move for the Lakers....Some players take time to develop, and the Nets need high upside young lads

If he can't contribute much this year, Lakers will have to bring along Zubac faster than they may have preferred. They still have Black as an undersized backup as well. Anything Lopez can contribute this year is a bonus; his main function in the trade is as an expiring contract.

I'm just wondering how this trade is going to impact the great chemistry that the Lakers had. They may not be able to win a game now that their chemistry is all screwed up.

Lonzo will have that chemistry locked in, no worries.

He's a great presence on a team, and will still be a solid offensive piece

It could get them out of the basement in defensive team rating.

Lebron would be the ultimate target, but Westbrook is also a free agent next summer.

Shit, forgot that one.....OKC about to go in the shitter for the next millenium

The 27/28 picks are really not much better than second round picks. So does George for Randle or Clarkson & two high second round picks sound like a good deal to you?

As a regular trade? No, of course not.

However, the Pacers are in a position of having to take what they can get. PG-13's trade value was already driven down when it was leaked that he had no intentions of re-signing with the Pacers and wanted to go to the Lakers.

It was then driven down even further when it was leaked that his agent is "adamantly" telling other teams that he intends to sign with the Lakers in 2018.

Because of those circumstances, that may literally be the best they can get. About the only team that may be able to do anything would be the Cavs if they want to trade Love for him and risk only getting him as 1 year rental. The question on that would be whether or not the Pacers would want Love for PG-13 straight up and I'm not sure what else the Cavs could offer besides an expiring contract to sweeten the deal.

Not discussed as a viable factor here on the hoop BK, but I gotta think this was a factor. To what degree, IDK.

A buddy of mine was saying that Magic didn't think DRuss was enough of a team guy. Whether or not the Swaggy ordeal had anything to do with it or not too IDK, but this character flaw could be an underlying consideration for trading this cat away so early in his career.

I don't know if the Nick Young thing had anything to do with it in a direct way. But one of the things that's been said is that the Lakers don't feel like he has matured as quickly as they would like.

Do you think Magic pulled this off in an effort to help the Nets and prevent BOS from getting another good pick next year?

I think Magic is just doing the best he can to undo the damage that Short Buss did when he gave Deng and Mozgov those contracts.

Sticking it to the Celtics is just an added bonus. :D

So far, this trade has done very little to improve the Lakers' prospects in 2017-2018. If they're able to land George, then things change -- but their current roster could still land them a top 5 pick (although I think they land somewhere in the 6-12 range with their current roster).

Aside from that, Boston is gunning for the Sacramento pick. The LAL throw-in just increases their chances of a top 5 pick -- the likelihood of it conveying has always been pretty low.
