One day it will all make sense
Luka is probably the most ball dominant player in the league. Trying to think of another who's more...Harden, Trae, Ja, Giannis?
Either way as mentioned Kyrie has managed

Point being, the Lakers have found a reason to turn down every opportunity they have had to move Russ and make the roster better.
Whether this was a real opportunity or not is irrelevant.
The pattern of the Lakers balking at paying a reasonable price to acquire players that can help them win today is clear to everyone paying attention.
They offered both picks if he signed a 2 year deal.....if it was 4 years the compensation would have been much less. And then said they weren’t willing to sign Kyrie to a 4 year extension and also that they wouldn’t deal both picks unless Kyrie signed a shorter extension.
Can’t have your cake and eat it too.

Get your facts straight.
There was a Tweet in the main NBA thread....Why would the Nets settle for less if he signed a longer extension? That doesn’t even make sense.
The Lakers would have paid less if Kyrie refused to extend. And Kyrie made it clear he didn’t want to sign a 2 year extension.
Always something the Lakers aren’t willing to do to pull off the big move.
Because, nobody wants Irving for the long term because he's crazy as fuck. Just the short term.
Duh.
There is a 3 way trade being discussed landing Tobias Harris with the Lakers.I get all that.
And my position is that the Lakers haven’t been willing to take any risks to make their team better.
Always a reason.
They don’t have many trade assets. So whatever deal they make to land a difference making player is going to involve risk.
And the Lakers don’t seem willing to take any.
Duh.

Normally I'm front and center on Laker bashing but I don't think the Lakers had near the pieces to compete with what the Mavs offered
Plus the chance of imploding is higher with Dallas and their picks
Totally agree that Dallas and Phoenix packages were better.
My point is that the Lakers weren’t even willing to fully offer an inferior package without getting Kyrie to agree to a shorter extension than he was going to agree to.
They are delusional.
The Lakers are like the guy in your fantasy league who offers 2 bench players for your best then immediately shoots down a fair offer that benefits both sides.
I would trade them today, yesterday, before the season started. Don't include me with the Buss spawn lol...I didn’t say that.
But you all clutching those distant firsts like they are gold. They aren’t. Lakers squandering their opportunity to win now with an all time great.
Not just about Kyrie.
They wouldn’t give their firsts to acquire really anyone.
Always something.
Open your eyes.

Do you honestly believe Tobias Harris is getting you over the top?
That is exchange of bad contracts with Lakers getting an inferior player who fits better.
I do think Harris for Westbrook could make them better.
But not by enough.
You could have had Turner and Hield.
Keep clutching those picks.
SMH.
Yes his personality sucks.
My point is related to basketball fit only
Which matters in the real world how? They're getting the whole Kyrie package, not just playing nice on the court Kyrie.
