Nets wouldn’t have dealt him to LA anyway.

But, they also said they didn’t want to sign him to a 4 year extension and wouldn’t give up 2 picks unless he signed a deal he didn’t want to do.

So that absolutely is on LA.

They want every deal to happen on their terms. That isn’t the real world.

Dallas isn't signing him to an extension either so I very much doubt that was the reason why.

The Nets wanted everything including the kitchen sink and the Lakers flat out refused, as they should have.

The fact LA was willing to give up both firsts says they would have been open to an extension.

This is the Nets being greedy and just acting like a dick to piss Kyrie off.

Don't really consider KD or Lebron ball dominant. Not like Luka anyway.
Luka is probably the most ball dominant player in the league. Trying to think of another who's more...Harden, Trae, Ja, Giannis?

I can’t imagine it not being personal at this point. The team is screwed short term no matter what they get so they may have stuck it to him a bit.

It's just a really dumb way to do business, imo. I understand it getting personal, especially with the way Kyrie has done things since he's been there.

But they owe it to their players and fans to put that aside and do what's best for the team.

They got so ridiculous on not sending Kyrie to the Lakers that they apparently requested Rui Hachimura.

They couldn't legally trade Hachimura even if they wanted to.

I'm not even sure Harden is all that ball dominant anymore.

Pick a lane. If they weren't sending him to the Lakers under any circumstances, then it doesn't matter if the Lakers would give him a 4 year deal.

That's not on the Lakers.

I’m not going to tell a man how to spend his money or when enough is enough when dealing with employees.

You think it would be smart to let him become a free agent over the summer (the time frame for a 4 year extension) after giving up ALL of your trade assets? I don't think so...

I didn’t say that.

But you all clutching those distant firsts like they are gold. They aren’t. Lakers squandering their opportunity to win now with an all time great.

That's not on the Lakers.

Point being, the Lakers have found a reason to turn down every opportunity they have had to move Russ and make the roster better.

Whether this was a real opportunity or not is irrelevant.

The pattern of the Lakers balking at paying a reasonable price to acquire players that can help them win today is clear to everyone paying attention.

Of course not.

But there's nothing wrong with pointing out that they did something dumb.

If someone wants to blow a fortune on cocaine, I'm not going to tell them they can't...but I'll tell them it's stupid.

Really? Every opportunity?

Including this one?

And yes, it is relevant.

Pick a lane.

Yes.

Every report is that the Lakers won’t part with the pieces necessary to get a Westbrook deal done.

And there have been countless rumors.

So if they don’t get a good deal before the deadline, it is 100% on Laker management

Honestly I think it just shows how bad things were with Irving, even billionaires aren’t perfect, in fact they don’t have to be. I honestly don’t blame the guy, if Irving wanted it at this point he wouldn’t get it.

And yet, they offered both picks for this deal.

Sorry, not going to agree with you on this.

I blame him. He let it get personal and was more interested in sticking it to Kyrie than what was best for his team.

It happens, but it was still dumb.

It's not a bad deal. But he could have done better.

I wish he could have traded him to the TWolves for a washing machine.

And then said they weren’t willing to sign Kyrie to a 4 year extension and also that they wouldn’t deal both picks unless Kyrie signed a shorter extension.

Can’t have your cake and eat it too.

No one was signing Kyrie to a 4 year deal.

The Lakers wanted him to sign the 2 year extension.

The Nets were never going to trade him to the Lakers.

They went as far as to ask for Hachimura.

You said yourself that the Nets weren't trading him to Lakers, but you still want to say it's on the Lakers.

You can't have it both ways.

Now stop tagging me with this bullshit.

Not just about Kyrie.

They wouldn’t give their firsts to acquire really anyone.

Always something.

Open your eyes.
