I don't care what he wanted JD should have never changed him to be a starter. He has not been the same since. He had a history of arm problems and that is why they decided to make him a relief pitcher to begin with.

I stated earlier post re conversion of starters. IMO Schepp has to take responsibility himself and I thought things started to go south after bar incident. He needs to find that electric movement back and learn how to perform in high leverage situations

Scheppers is just not that good of a pitcher any longer. You mentioned that I shouldn't give him a pass. I don't think it is a matter of giving him a pass though. He just isn't any good and it really seemed to coincide with him becoming a starter. I believe the "electric movement" left when he was turned into a starter. Of course I understand there being a disagreement since it is really hard to prove either way.

Exactly. It's impossible to prove.

What about Ross and Feliz. Very similar circumstances

Some of you forget, but Feliz showed signs of losing his edge as early as 2011. His velocity started dipping around 94-96 that year.

That's funny. I had actually typed another sentence in my post above including Ross and Feliz and Ogando and then I deleted it. I think Feliz and Ogando were both hampered by the moving back in forth between roles. I am not sure about Ross as much.

I just noticed Brinson was promoted when Williams was traded. I liked Williams but I'm glad we held onto one of them. It's probably a good thing that we held onto the one that's RH. Especially with Mazara being LH, and the rest of our OFers. He hasn't skipped a beat in AA, although it's only been 3 games.
