Bmurph
F the Houston Astros
3 duds from Holland in a pennant race, he may be hurt still
Actually 3 straight - 5,5 and today.Ball game, Derek that two games in a row that you have been terrible.

I have no idea if he's hurt again. But I didn't like the fact of him throwing so many damn pitches so early after coming back.
The way he is pitching he is the off man out. But I hope the real Holland shows up soon.Dutch says he is not hurt. But he sure is rusty. Hopefully he gets it figured out soon
It was a great 1 series run Murph. HA!
Good news...won't see the mariners again this year.
Exactly. We're still in the driver's seat, and we don't have to worry about them. We didn't get swept and we're still up two games in the loss column. We get Oakland, then Houston, and then Detroit before finishing with four against LAA. Let's take care of business.
Talk is cheap. Maybe we should skip his start and let everyone else pitch on regular rest with the day off today. Not saying do it because he needs rest as that shouldn't be the issue but to work on some things.
Grant: After what Holland calls a 'terrible' outing, pitcher guarantees that he's ready to face Astros
His 2nd start was so-so. So you are right on 3 out of 4 of his first starts. But these last 3 have gotten progressively worse. More walks than strike outs in his last 2 starts and he just seems to have nothing going on. It is a little concerning. Now I do think he can and will turn it around but the question is when. It could be next game and I hope so as we really need him to be on his game. But also do not see a problem with him skipping a start to work on some things.Pitchers have bad stints. The guy was utterly dominant his first three starts. Some of you guys are getting into this guy a little much.
Holland is one of the most polarizing dudes on the team...He has 3 great starts and he's an Ace and then 3 bad starts and he's a fucking clown that needs to mature...It's pretty unreal.Pitchers have bad stints. The guy was utterly dominant his first three starts. Some of you guys are getting into this guy a little much.
The clown stuff never bothered me and I agree with Rev that he is very capable as a TORP and a huge plus in the rotation. But I am actually caught off guard for lack of a better word in regards to his last 3 outings. One or even two but to see him look worse each time he has pitched in those 3 starts does concern me. And I do believe he will get it back but like I said not sure when. I love having him as one of our pitchers.I have always been a big Holland fan. I do think he is ace type material when he is healthy. I think he might be hurt and not admitting it. This is very much unlike him when healthy.
I don't understand those who think he is too much of a clown to be a good pitcher. I thought Derek proved that was a fallacy long ago.
