Pitch count high and it's not a bad inning.

Because of the timing, Yu won't miss more than one start.

Yu hasn't consistently been himself ever since that 130 pitch outing. This development should mean the end of Wash as manager here. You don't fool around with your ace like that. It was a very foolish thing to do.

When did he complain? I heard him say he wanted to shut people up about his fastballs.

What really irritated me was after his last start he said something to the effect that he feels like he may have thrown too many fastballs and he feels like he's a breaking ball pitcher. That really pissed me off for a guy who can run his fastball up to 97. This isn't Japan. You have to pitch off your fastballs to be an elite pitcher here. Quit being a bitch and learn to locate it, because your breaking balls are getting crushed when you don't.

I agree to an extent, it should be coaches telling him this and not the media

So him telling the media to piss off is fine by me

That said, he should throw more fastballs

I think it's ridiculous for him to claim that just because his ERA is down it's not a big deal. All the bullshit homers to 7-8-9 hole hitters are not acceptable. The only pitch they can hit is his looping curve and he throws it right in there to be crushed.

How do you guys feel about Yu complaining about the American media? I think he needs to get over it and throw fastballs.

It also includes Nolan Ryan, Steve Busby, and Eric Nadel. I know the last 2 are media but not how we think of media. All I can say is the truth hurts.

Let's hope the coaches do it...I don't trust Washington to figure it out.

Exactly. This is American baseball. They hold players accountable here. If you wanted to take the easy road where you can dominate and never be question you should've stayed in Japan.

That had nothing to do with anything. He's had good games since then.

Darvish is leading people to believe that he is not coachable. If that's true he needs to get real. Even the best pitchers work with pitching coaches to improve and adjust. He's no different.

Like a lot of times the media write articles or quote people out of context to make it more than it actually is. the specific question asked for that response was, what is the difference between the American media and Japanese media. He didn't just bring it up, he answered a specific question asked.

Yes, but he was clearly defensive about it.
